What is your favorite holiday and why?  I seem to enjoy the Christmas it is very peaceful and giving.  It brings out people spiritual side and brings most Detroiters together as a union.

Steveincanton,
Awhhhhh. I've seen some of your blogs and you seem like a decent guy. God has a gift for each of us, some of us have to wait a little longer than others to receive theirs.

I love Christmas the most. It's the only holiday that my whole family gets together and we have an absolute ball. During the past few years alot of my family members have moved to different cities and gone off to college universities in different states. With that being said it is nice to see everybody and exchange gifts and most of all appreciate family and life.

Devil's Night was fun in my older days. We use to make a Huge Leaf Fort under our Pine Tree and a bunch of us would wait for unsuspecting deviler's (a made up word).

Those were the days. Run all day and play late at night with the neighborhood kids. To think, I couldn't wait until I turned 21. What was I thinking.

Fourth of July....yeah....great time too.

love,

Christmas use to be one of my favorite. We use to gather at my mothers and there were tons of presents waiting for us.

Since my father passed and my mother has had her stroke......Christmas is lonely for me now.

I had family here last year but it was like pulling teeth. I won't hassel with it this year. I celebrate on my husbands side but he likes to stay late at night with his family and play games/drink. I can't participate as I have to have my mom home and in bed before 9:00, so things aren't the same. I just go with the flow and actually am excited when it passes.

Hey colt , I feel sorry for Steve . Can you imagine having to sing happy birthday , sit around and watch the old man open presents , while all of your friends are out toilet papering your house and soaping the windows ?

I have to admit it's hard to pick out of the last 3 of the year. Thanksgiving is for giving thanks and family-Christmas celebrates the birth of Christ and the smiles on the children's faces when they open the presents--And New Year's, when we can both reflect on the past year and look forward to a brighter New Year. I have to go with Thanksgiving on the family tip.
