He nailed it.  Democrat, Republican somewhere in between or somewhere on the fringe, the overwhelming consensus here in St Paul is that John McCain gave the speech of his political life , in the clutch, following up his VP w/ just the right amount of passion, patriotism, and tough talk that will fire up his loyalists and maybe even convert some of the undecided.  When it was over I talked to a white man who served in Iraq.. a middle aged woman from Wash state.... a Latino man from NY, and an African American man from Virginia.. all of em were so pumped up they didn't need planes to fly home.   He even LOOKED great.. so did his 96 year old mother... (who couldn't love her ).....I'm sure there are those who are anti McCain no matter what ... but you have to give the guy his due at least for tonight, dontcha?.... he earned it.    So... your thoughts ?

I agree with everything you said! McCain was awesome.
The thing I don't get is, why are some of the commentators complaining? They say McCain didn't talk about what he would do as President? huh? What speech where they watching? I heard him talk about specific issues, concerns, and what he would do about them,, that he left no doubts on my mind. Some people are either incredibly stupid and can't comprehend English for BLEEP, or choose not to when it doesn't serve their purpose.
McCain IS the perfect man for the job. Ready, capable, experienced, he has it all.

McCain ~ Palin ‘08
The REAL Dream Ticket, only it’s reality.

McCain is playing the republicans like myself who were not voting for him. I for one have not been taken in by this. He only chose this woman to try to get the disappointed soccer moms who are angry that Hillary didn't win. IF McCain does manage to win, Sarah will be delegated to running the republican daycare center and he will be making deals with the dems just like our "wonderful" gov., Arnold. He will give this country to the illegals, raise our taxes and put a bunch of liberals on the supreme court just to "get along" with the dems. McCain knows he's only good for 4 years.

Sorry Cheryl, but you are wrong. This is no soccer mom with suburban socialist attitudes. Palin is the real deal. And frankly, at this point I don't see how anyone who considers themselves conservative can support through voting or through tacit approval of staying home, the very liberal, socialist agenda of Obama and his compatriots in Congress. If you like the economics in California now you will love it after it goes nationwide. I don't think we can afford Obama. Like it or not, if you stay home along with others like you, then Obama wins. So don't bother to complain when YOUR taxes go up and YOUR medical and social choices diminish.

Texas, if Obama wins, you win. I win. All the angry Republicans win.

Donnyboy,

If Obama wins, YOU LOSE WITH THE REST OF US! Obama is from the Jimmy Carter school of politics: a disaster with a huge misery index attached to it, just like 1980! I'm sure you weren't even born then, so let me tell you this: IT WAS VERY MISERABLE UNDER JIMMY CARTER! Barack Obama exhibits every bad trait Jimmy Carter had back then...is that what you want now?

Jimmy Carter was not perfect by any means but:

"He presented a comprehensive program, aimed at reducing dependence on foreign oil, that he called the "moral equivalent of war." Opponents thwarted it in Congress."

TexasTruBlu, I like Palin. Will like her better in 4 year or more from now. She is not ready to lead. She can be someone's vp in 4 or more years.

McCain doesn't want her kind of thinking when it comes to running this country. He is only using her to get disappointed Rep like myself.

I will not vote for someone who will be nothing more than a dem in Rep clothing.

I say, let the Dems have the WH for 4 years. That will be plenty of time for the dem to f'ck up this country and all these Rep who voted for this nimrod McCann instead of a real conservative to grow back their brains.

Donnyboy:

Jimmy Carter also took out all the ground intelligence the United States and the Allies had agianst terrrorists in the Middle East...that information came directly from Israeli General Shimon Erem at a conference held in Southern California on May 17 2008, which I personally worked and heard directly from General Erem's mouth. Erem has commanded the Israeli Army since its formation in 1948. If Obama gets into office, he will make a further mess of Carter's blunders which we are paying for today.

Anyone who wants this worse than a nimrod Obama in office...go vote, and be ready to be more miserable! McCain is not a nimrod!
