Free Gas!!!

 

Bet I got your attention.  Well it’s only free if you are a Nascar driver.

That’s right, Nascar drivers that use a special formulation of Unleaded known as GTX 260, do not have to pay for gas.  Who does pay for it, well all of us;  even if you don’t buy at Sunoco.  That’s because it’s supply and demand.  Whenever you give a natural resource away for free, ALL those that use the natural resource pay for it due to reduced supply.  Of course I don’t buy GTX 260 for my Ford economy car that gets 29 MPG on average.  However, it is still a form of unleaded gas that comes from the same crude my gas is made from.

 

I think we should all boycott Sunoco for giving Nascar free gas.  Nascar should have to pay for it like everybody else.  Not only this, I personally think Nascar should run without gas.  It’s a waste of gas and just causes pollution all so people can keep turning their head from left to right.  Just get 2 cars, a wire hangar, tie them to your hat and spin. There’s your Nascar race.

they are a sponser of the event and are free to do so.

I suggest you do not watch baseball, hockey, basketball or go to any concerts or other evetns that also are sponcered by someone as they get free food gas and what ever else it is they want.

What is it with people like this poster that makes them so angry? This is America where you can do what ever it is you set your mind to do.

Why do the people in this country feel they need to control others so much?

tax the rich feed, the poor until there are no rich no more then who pays?

Who will stop them when they come to stop you from enjoing your freedoms and things you enjoy. If you do not like it just don't watch or go to a race or any other event, but do not try to control what people and businesses do.

Does a gas company really need to sponsor the event? Sure they are free to do so, but it's not free to us. It's not like there isn't demand for Gas.

Who cares if a gas company sponsors nascar? And if they give them free gas, so what.

Why don't YOU just boycott all gas companies and really show them?

NorthDetroitGuy, you may as well crawl into a deep cavern and quit sucking air, for companies all around this planet sponsor events with their company names and logos, and they have the rights to do so.

Should we pull all our monies from the banks because US Bank or Wells Fargo (etc) sponsor not only charity events but sports events because the home value market is down?

Get a grip and realize that this is what this country runs on. Free to advertise, promote and create income. Leave it lay.

Sponsoring is one thing. Wasting natural resources is another. Why not let people ruin the rainforests too, as long as the put a sign up that says "Look at me, I am sponsoring the this wood desk"

Let me be clear that my issue is not with sponsorship. The fact is that since the Nascar racers get free gas, they do not try to conserve it during such events as practices, or during qualifying. This is because they have no limit and don't have to pay for it. If nothing else, Sunoco/Nascar should put limits in place. Can you imagine how much you might drive if you got gas for free? Let alone how much you might drive if you had a race car and gas for free?

NorthDetroitGuy, you're lucky you weren't on a Naval Carrier. Each time a training plane is launched from it's catapaults, it is done with a full tank of JP5 or jet engine fuel (to prevent that fuel from slamming backwards and breaking the tank). In order to reset that jet back down on that carrier, all excessive fuel is dumped into the ocean to prevent massive fires should that plane land incorrectly and explode. Do that for each and every flight, and then think of how much this government wastes? Besides, if'n we had a race car and all the free gas, we'd drive illegal beaners across the border for big bucks and live happily and nude on a white sand beach somewhere near Tahiti, drinking Mai Tai's and eating grapes..WOOOOHOOOO
