It has now been just a little over 24 hours since we all learned who Barak Obama's choice as a running mate is.  As was stated yesterday, it was a drop off the cliff.  The problem with that cliff is, you would hope to soar to greater heights after launching such an ambitious and talked about subject.  The "Bounce" in politics as it is called.

Obama has said since the beginning of his campaign that this would be "Change That We Could Believe In".  We were all hoping to see a large shift in what Washington has been since the dawn of this country.  The hope of fresh and new seems to be fading into politics as usual.  There had been the real possibility until yesterday that an African American and a Woman could occupy the two top posts in our government.

It is so sad that it appears the male ego has once again reared his ugly head.  There are several women who are very qualified to be President or Vice President of this country.  Mr. Obama now has to answer to the working mothers, the single mothers, the woman walking down Main Street USA as to why a woman was not good enough to be his running mate.

Mr. Obama, you have lost many of us with your decision.  Now you have a lot of ground to make up for because of this.  You had made promises to the American People that you seem to already be breaking.  We had so hoped and believed that you could and would bring the changes that are so necessary to turn this troubled nation around.  You dared us to dream and we did!  There is now the huge possibility that you have thrown a Democratic win for the White House into the gutter.

The Democratic National Convention is only two days away.  Hillary Clinton's name will be put into nomination.  Maybe the super delegates should take your dream away and nominate Hillary Clinton instead of you.  She would be smart enough to choose you as her Vice President.

Brian L. Thompson

I'm not too thrilled about Obama selecting Biden as VP but I'm also not disappointed about him not selecting Clinton. The Clinton people really need to back up thier democratic party and give it a break with this Clinton thing. She lost just like every OTHER democratic contender for President. Noboby's crying about those others. If it were a white man that had won the nomincation, I bet your house that this converation wouldn't even be taking place. She has as much experience as Obama does as a senator. She NEVER held political office; she has absolutely NO experience except what she learned from her husband and, if anything, she blasted Obama during the campaign while he kept his cool about her. To me this is just a racial thing which shows how white america is still racist. Oh, wait, you're goint to respond that I'm wrong and maybe that I'm a racist. Well, eat this. Every woman mentioned as being capable of being President or VP has been a WHITE woman. Oh, Black women are not capable because they're BLACK, right!

Some people are so quick to play the race card. You are wrong. There are plenty of blacks who can see through obamas character. I like the Clintons. Things were good in this country during their administration. Obama did not pick Hillary because he would not want Bill Clinton in the white house. They (Clintons) would be able to keep a watchful eye on what Obama might be trying to do. Now, I cannot vote Democratic.

you make no since clintons would keep a eye on obama like some one kept a eye on clinton sexual activities in the white with that intern remember. clintons had their chance right now i may still vote for clinton if she runs again and mr obama fails in his first term but if she keeps up this soar looser atititude. i may never vote for her. now lets look at the race card 1 are their still racist people in this country 2 are their people no matter what mr obama do will not vote for him 3 who laid the first personel attack in the primary between clinton and obama 4 their were whites doing the primary who said openly they can not vote for a black guy.
i think mr obama is fine and miss clinton is find. yes i think she went to hard on him in the primary knowing they were both democrates and the fight should have been toward the republicans. i believe he chose someone other than ms clinton because the polls shows her negative rating were high.he would not be able to run his white house with the clintons who had that house for eight years and think they know it all. we need a fresh look even if he pick a 30 year veteran. the image is on mr obama and he is the change. its his game. so befor you vote on anger just because your canidate lost. the other side the republican is using your anger toward mr obama a democrate and you a democrate to vote for them a republican . who shares none of your issues. just remember the choice you make will have to be the choice you live with for 4 years.

This is for the Gentlemen's comments on Obama and Biden. A WOMAN WILL NOT BE PRESIDENT, EVER!! WHETHER SHE IS BLACK OR WHITE!!!
This Country might accept a African-American Man for President but never, ever a Woman.

Hilary was not chosen beacuse she is a Woman, and her husband cannot be trusted to behave himself in the White House. His past presidency proved his moral outlook on fidelity within a marriage. Did Bill Clinton respect the American People or its Government. NO!!

By the way: Vegas is betting on Obama!! Politics are very big business in America. They want a big change and will get it by any means necessary!! Remember: "The Best Is Yet To Come"!!

fgeason... I don`t care what Bill did sexually in the white house. Just like I don`t care what Kwame did. If it`s criminal-- that`s different. I really do hope someone is watching Obama, and you should too. He has some radical ties that ... worry me, to say the least.

Mystic... unfortunately, I would place my bet in Vegas-- on Obama. I agree people want change but-- due to Obamas unsavory ties and questionable history... I am afraid of what kind of change he will bring.
Just for the record I vote for the best candidate... not the political party. This time around, I am NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!

Homosexuality and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, homosexuality is officially seen as a set of “thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.” The Church recognizes and officially welcomes its gay and lesbian members under condition that they attempt to live the church moral code.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH YEAH, MITT ROMNEY.
NOOOOOOOOOOO CONTEST! YOU BET.

3. God. In Mormon theology, the god of our planet is believed to have once been a man on another planet, who through self-effort and the help of his own father-god, was appointed by a counsel of gods in the heavens to his high position as the god of planet Earth, and now has a physical, resurrected, glorified body. Mormonism teaches that through the atonement of Christ and by their good deeds and "holy" living, men can one day become gods, and with their multiplicity of "goddess wives," populate their own planets. (This is what the celestial marriage and the Mormon temple vows are all about.) Mormon theology, therefore, humanizes God and deifies man.3

YES, THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT WILL SURE WELCOME ROMNEY. NOOOOOOOO CONTEST. LOL

Just another example of how you cannot please everyone all the time, yet Democrats still try, this time with Obama.
He stammered continously at the Saddleback with answers that didn't "offend" anyone (mostly moveon.org nazis). He's never taken a serious stand that wasn't political expediant, again typical.
He preaches change, yet a Senator with 28 years in his office? 28 years. I'll say it again, 28 years. Back when Nixon was in office, Biden was in Washington. And he's is going to "change" Washington?
This election will prove that the media is like a great offense. It may get you to the Superbowl, but it won't win it. We'll learn in the next couple months just how much HYPE Obama really is and how little substance, which is why McCain scares them so much. He's a man of substance, and conviction.
Mystic---"Big Change"..... AHHH HA HA HA HA HA HA.... yeah right.

LONGSHOT: Thank you for the information regarding the Mormon Theology. I would really be surprised if Mitt Romney was chosen to be McCains V.P. What if anything, does the Southern Baptists think about Mitt Romey? Will this affect the Republican vote? I am an Independent voter. I liked Mrs. Clinton, but I knew in my heart that she would NOT get the Nomination. She is a Woman! It took Years for Women to get to Vote..It will take more Years for Women to become President of the U.S. (tears)

Longshot,

Before you criticize somebody's religion take a look at yourself first!! I know a lot of Mormons and if you ever traveled outside of Michigan and visit Utah you would learn something. So in your mind Catholic Priest pounding young boys is OK with you? Before you drop acid and respond, I'm not Mormon. And to your I love that murdering Kennedy blog, he should have gone to jail for murder.

Obama did not pick Hillary because he understands women are to emotional to hold such a powerful position. I am a woman. I am totally against women being president or vice president. Men make ego decisions. Women make emotional ones. So, of the lesser of two evils, which would be best for our country?

OBAMA/BIDEN 2008. lONG LIVE PROSPERITY, AND A NEW BEGINNING. The Times they are a CHANGING! That old Bob Dylan song certainly rings true today. Enough cynicism, mistrust of those who are atypical. Let's Make a New beginning and start all over again (please listen to tracey Chapman's song) . My 80 plus granfather sys the change that Obama and Biden will bring will give us a spirit that recent generations have never experienced. He thinks change is the order of life. And though usually painful in the beginning is always well worth it. He's a retired Chrysler foreman. I agree with grandpa!

Nokia man,MImi In my heart of hearts I think an Obama/Biden team would have been the true dream team. But, it wasn't meant to be. I don't think Bill Clinton helped matters because of his baggage and suprisingly negative, devisive campaigning. Obviously , Bill's chemistry didn't mix. I think Obama and Hillary (without Bill) would have caused all kinds of cracks in "the ceiling".
