Kilpatrick Uses Disgraced Preacher Tactics

Kilpatrick told the crowd on Saturday: "I'm not being whupped by the devil; I am being punished by my God. I know that my disobedience put me in the situation I am in." 

I mean no disrespect to anyone of faith.  I have an emmense belief in God.  However, why is it that when a politician gets in trouble in the public eye, all of a sudden they confess their sins like those of a Jimmy Swaggert or James Baker?

It boggles the mind how those that profess to be "believers" use the lord and the scriptures after that fact. Where were those convictions and his faith when he was doing all of his dirty deeds? Why did they not pray to God for strength when they felt weak? I too need an answer to the question that you posed. I'm not a hard hearted person. I believe in treating others with kindness and decency. On the other hand, I'm no fool either and it insults me for Kilpatrick to suddenly repent and act as if all should be forgiven. No sir. Just can't let this one go. Too much harm to the innocent and too much ugly here! Too much harm to the city that I love !
