My Brother-Inlaw sent this to me and I just thought you might enjoy it.

His name is Bill. He has wild hair, wears a T-shirt with holes in it, jeans, and no shoes.

This was literally his wardrobe for his entire four years of college.

He is brilliant. Kind of profound and very, very bright. He became a Christian while attending college.

Across the street from the campus is a well-dressed, very conservative church.

They want to develop a ministry to the students but are not sure how to go about it.

One day Bill decides to go there. He walks in with no shoes, jeans, his T-shirt, and wild hair.

The service has already started and so Bill starts down the aisle looking for a seat.

The church is completely packed and he can't find a seat. By now, people are really looking a bit uncomfortable, but no one says anything.

Bill gets closer and closer and closer to the pulpit, and when he realizes there are no seats,

he just squats down right on the carpet.

By now the people are really uptight, and the tension in the air is thick.

Ab out this time, the minister realizes that from way at the back of the church,

a deacon is slowly making his way toward Bill.

Now the deacon is in his eighties, has silver-gray hair, and a three-piece suit.

A godly man, very elegant, very dignified, very courtly. He walks with a cane and,

as he starts walking toward this boy, everyone is saying to themselves that you

can't blame him for what he's going to do.

How can you expect a man of his age and of his background to understand some college kid on the floor?

It takes a long time for the man to reach the boy.

The church is utterly silent except for the clicking of the man's cane. All eyes are focused on him.

You can't even hear anyone breathing. The minister can't even preach the sermon until the deacon

does what he has to do.

And now they see this elderly man drop his cane on the floor. With great difficulty,

he lowers himself and sits down next to Bill and worships with him so he won't be alone..

Everyone chokes up with emotion. When the minister regains control, he says,

'What I'm about to preach, you will never remember.

What you have just seen, you will never forget. '

'Be careful how you live. You may be the only Bible some people will ever read!'

I asked the Lord to bless you
As I prayed for you today.
To guide you and protect you
As you go along your way....
His love is always with you,
His promises are true,
And when we give Him all our cares,
You know He will see us through.

Pass this to People you want God to Bless.
  I DID!

MichiganPerson? AMEN! I get so tired of these so-called religious people in church with their Audis and BMWs parked outside, they in their three piece suits and $150 dresses who put a whole $20 bill in the collection plate and go away feeling so good about themselves. Then on the way to Sunday dinner (At a fancy restaurant), they're stopped at a redlight and do everything in their power to NOT notice the homeless man standing at the corner with a sign that reads "Will work for food". Back in the days of Jesus, how many people who came to his sermons drove ox carts with GPS? Did Armani even make the robes they wore back then? These were poor common people who came to hear the sermons of an average man and they all sat either in the dirt or on rocks. Since when did the church become such an exclusive "members only" club?

It became that way because of the all mighty dollar but I do not remember hearing anything about Jesus asking for money when he preached.

No Mich, he didn't actually ASK for money, what he did ask was that the rich share with the poor. I give you an example, Bill Gates is worth billions. He's constantly lauded for giving to charities. However, look at what he really does. He donates about one million dollars to charity each year. He makes about 100 million a year currently. One million dollars is one one-thousandth of a billion. That would be roughly the equivalent of having 2 or 3 thousand dollars in your wallet, and giving somebody a dollar for dinner. All of a sudden what sounded like a lot, is really only a drop in the bucket. This is what I mean by what I said earlier about people with money who only go to church for the appearances.

I'm not asking for any thanks or anything, but once I saw a woman standing with a sign asking for a job, I asked her if she'd eaten yet that day, she said she couldn't, she barely had enough to feed her kid. I put her in my car, drove to McDonald's bought her two meals for her and her kid, took her home, got her info, then made some phone calls. Last I heard she's still working for the same company after 7 years. I don't have a lot of money, but I did what I could.

Dave I agree with you a few years ago there was a guy standing in front of this fast food restaurant and was asking for change so he could eat not one that went in before me gave him anything all I heard was that if the guy wanted to eat than maybe he should get a job I took him in and bought him a dinner my first husband at that time just about had a heart attack and asked me what I was doing??I told him what Jesus would have done feed the man and that if he did not like he could go to Hell that I would not let someone starve just because he was an azzhole.I do not like to brag or talk about it it just what any good christian would do!!

Well Mich, the thing that came to mind that day was the saying, give a man a fish, feed him for a day, teach a man to fish, you can feed him for a lifetime, I figured if I could get her a job where I worked, that would fit the latter.

Mich, that was meant as a point, not an arguement. I think what you did was great. Not many people would do what we did, they'd think we were weird. It's sad that this country has become such a "me first" mentality. Unfortunately it's gotten to the point now that it's becoming a "me only" mentality and the only way most people do things for someone else these days is if there's something in it for them. I go back to Bill Gates as an example, did you know know he has one personal assistant that has nothing else to do but go around and hand out press releases about what good thing he's done this week? Sad.
