Treasury Department May Take Ownership Stake in Banks

Having tried without success to unlock frozen credit markets,
the Treasury Department is considering taking ownership
stakes in many United States banks to try to restore
confidence in the financial system, according to government
officials.

Treasury officials say the just-passed $700 billion bailout
bill gives them the authority to inject cash directly into
banks that request it. Such a move would quickly strengthen
banks' balance sheets and, officials hope, persuade them to
resume lending. In return, the law gives the Treasury the
right to take ownership positions in banks, including healthy

I am sorry for those people that had to lose their lives 7 years ago. I am even more sorry for their families who have had to go on without them. The severely Injured number in both venues are countless. Reports of at least 20% of all Iraq and Afghanistan troops suffers with a Brain Injury. The Amputee rate is staggering. I came across a Vet group outraged that 1 out of every 4 Americans, DO NOT know how many troops to date have been killed.

In Afghanistan and it's border of Pakistan where Bin Laden has reportedly been hiding since 9-11, only in the last year has gotten any REAL attention. Our Governments focus has been in a region that had absolutely nothing to do with the events that took place on 9-11-01.

U.S. Troop KIA Iraq/Afghanistan 4,746.

I do not consider sending 4,158 of our U.S. Soldiers to their deaths in IRAQ Justice for 9-11-01. Not when Osama Bin Laden is still breathing in a completely different region that he has always been in. I do not consider the senselessness of having invaded Iraq. I do not care how many of Iraqi's were being killed by Saddam Hussein. I do know one thing, HE WASN'T KILLING US.

OUR KIA OF 4,158 ARE OF OUR OWN GOVERNMENTS DOING.

And I personally find this sickening and an act of insanity in it's crudest form.

More deaths for the justice of past deaths not related to the past deaths.

9-11-01 was carried out by cowards. And the one who plotted this attack is still alive. 4,158 of our own U.S. troops are not any longer, sent to the wrong country. To NOT hunt for the biggest coward who was responsible for 9-11-01.

I am sorry for every single human being affected by the events of 9-11-01.

I am even more sorry for the Troops who have had to lose their lives, for an injustice that resulted when our own Government decided to invade the wrong Venue. Maybe if all had been sent to Afghanistan to immediately CLEAN HOUSE THERE. It might of also resulted in the 588 KIA'S not happening there, along with our Allie's KIA's fighting along side us. And gained the capture of the right man, who was the responsible person for 9-11-01.

It's a little too late now. The dead are dead, and cannot be brought back. But let us be clear of how many casualties resulted from 9-11-01.

A little over 3,000 on all the terror attacks of 9-11-01 on our own soil.

And because of many peoples stupidity, insanity, financial endeavors & gain, and being completely inexperienced of what someone in their position should of done. Like wait, examine, research, & listen to more people who had more expertise as to military operations. But instead took a Rambo like character who was FICTION.

4,158 more U.S. deaths have now resulted in Iraq, and another 588 U.S. deaths in Afghanistan. Bringing the total deaths as a result of 9-11-01 to  7,755.

4,746 more deaths since the deaths of 3,009  9-11-01.

What in God's name were our leaders thinking?

All I know is that Today we mourned the 7 year anniversary of 9-11. Next year we'll mourn the 8 year anniversary. We cannot change the events of that day in 01, and we can not change the KIA count of U.S. Troops in Iraq or the entire Middle East as of 08.

But we can change how many more deaths from this day 08, to this day next year 09.

Enough with the if we pull our troops out now, they will have died in vain for nothing or no result. This is the same damn identical argument that kept us in Vietnam for over 12 years.

I DO NOT WANT TO GET TO THE MARK OF 58,739 AGAIN.

Enough Dead, Enough Memorials, Enough Names on Walls.

I just now got a chance to listen to Kwame Kilpatrick's goodbye speech on the internet.

He couldn't even go out a real man. No surprise. This speech started out like another speech, one you thought might finally add some class to this boy. But no doing, in another he started out to so call apologize for his own wrong doings. First half like this one began with at least something that made sense. But like the other that stooped at the end to that old standard RACE CARD. I've been called a N' routine, no doubt to gain sympathy. In reality it was blacks that weren't buying it. In fact it was taking as an insult to all the blacks that were educated and had integrity. That's when the real fire to get him out ignited. And he ignited it himself.

Tonight more of the same. In reality all of it was more or less bull from the start. He started it like he had finally saw a vision of all that he had done wrong. Maybe aiming for a better ending then the last major speech. But in the end it was the same very young Kwame Kilpatrick that hadn't learned anything about becoming a man. He couldn't even end his stint in the office of Mayor like a man. Instead once again choosing to blame someone else for his final downfall. This rant would be on the Governor. With this bull, there are people who pounced on me for their own political gain.

Funny I don't remember how many times I criticized Governor Granholm for not acting fast enough. I thought what does this man have to do, KILL SOMEONE before she finally even decides to take some action. Granholm waited and waited hoping Detroit could resolve their own problems. And you could see by the length that it went on, that Granholm didn't want to be in the position of being forced to conduct hearings to remove this Mayor. Granholm finally caved in due to pressure FROM the city of Detroit, the council, the business owners, his former lawyer who's now suing him for $80,000.00, even the leading black pastor's in the city, including his own. In the end even the man running for the Presidency of the Untied States that didn't even want him at the Democratic Convention.

She didn't want this role, and the strangest part of all this is,  the one who really forced her hand. The Mayor Himself. But tonight again instead of apologizing to all the people he hurt, the two upstanding cops he fired for no reason. Slandered their names through the mud. Saying he was sorry for costing the city millions and millions of dollars. He gave an empty speech of how he so loved the city and it's people, and that alone was the reason for finally submitting his resignation. When in reality all he was looking out for was his own *ss. Then blaming the woman who never wanted the role in the first place, but understanding once she finally did remove him. He would lose the only last thing he could use for a plea deal. That very resignation. He didn't resign because he loved anybody or anything. He resigned because if he didn't he would of faced 3-15, instead of 120 days. That is the bottom line and the truth of the matter.

Kwame Kilpatrick forced the Governor's hand and no one else. In the end he still couldn't even go out like a man, instead choosing to play the BLAME GAME. It was all now Governor Granholm's fault. Like it was Kim Worthy's fault before her, and the Media's fault before her, than the white people before them, and then the two people Kwame fired and slandered and did it alone before them. The two Black officers. How dare them sue to get their name back.

Yes, to Kwame it was all a conspiracy with hundreds and thousands of people coming after him with lit torches. All wearing white sheets and hoods, with both white and black people underneath them. This is the way Kwame wanted to go out. Not with a little dignify still left, but with still putting the majority of blame on others.

How pathetically sad. If After all this he still hadn't matured, he was never going to. And I doubt he ever will.

I rather doubt it. National Media only knows how to report all the bad in Detroit.

But do they know how report the GOOD? Detroit Smoked this whole weekend and it's not over. One more Day & Night Monday.  We have the BEST JAZZ FESTIVAL IN THE WHOLE COUNTRY. And all FREE. The Top Names and Acts in Jazz. God knows Newport still gets coverage, but I haven't heard anything to ours on the National News. But then I spent all of Saturday & Sunday at the fest. I'm only sorry I missed Friday night and the tribute to Marvin Gaye.

Their camera's and reporters should of been at the main stage Sunday night for Gerald Wilson, Kenny Burrell & Count Basie's Orchestra's. JAZZ AT THE ABSOLUTE FINEST.

But we won't get any mention, any noteriety. Only the BAD gets mentioned.

Belle Isle Grand Prix, Pontiac's Eats & Beats, State Fair, 4 day Free Jazz Fest with the most famous names in Jazz. But God knows they know how to report our murder rate, our sad Mayor, our number one on the list of bad & horrible cities on this and that. Well less than 8 hours ago, Detroit displayed some of the finest musicians history has offered. And Monday will continue the party.

Young & Old, every color, race, nationality, & religion ENJOYED TOGETHER.

But you won't see any press on it. And it's a Damn Shame. There had to be at least a 100,000 down there Sunday. It seemed that 50,000 alone watched Gerald Wilson & Count Basie. But I guarantee no media other than our own video's were going. They won't show THAT DETROIT.

The National Media SILENT. Isn't their Ignorance a virtue?

Well they missed a party, they missed the best names and sounds of Jazz. THEIR LOSS, NOT OURS. We went, Saw, Watched, Heard & Immensely Enjoyed. And that my friends is the REAL DEAL of DETROIT.

OH and BTW, our NEXT PRESIDENT will be in Hart Plaza in about 4 hours. Hope he sticks around for the rest of the Jazz Fest.

Yeah some bad things go down here, BUT EVEN MORE GOOD THINGS GO DOWN. And it's never noted nor gets a mear mention by the National Media, and that is totally messed up.
