"Rasmussen Reports will soon end our daily tracking of the Democratic race and focus exclusively on the general election competition between Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama."

The MyFox family of web sites has an agreement in place with the Rasmussen Reports where we get weekly, sometimes daily poll results from this very credible and unique organization. Today Rasmussen deemed that the race is over for Hillary Clinton.
(read below)

From Rasmussen Reports:
Senator Clinton has remained close and competitive in every meaningful measure, she is a close second and the race is over. It has become clear that Barack Obama will be the Democratic nominee.

At the moment, Senator Clinton’s team is busily trying to convince Superdelegates and pundits that she is more electable than Barack Obama. For reasons discussed in a separate article, it doesn’t matter. Even if every single Superdelegate was convinced that the former First Lady is somewhat more electable than Obama, that is not enough of a reason to deny him the nomination.

With this in mind, Rasmussen Reports will soon end our daily tracking of the Democratic race and focus exclusively on the general election competition between Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama.

Kudos Rasmussen. Let's get the game on. I have written many times in my blog about how Hillary cannot mathematically win her party's nomination. She can only negotiate her way to the title. This serves no one but herself. No one can question her resolve or toughness, but she is dividing the Dems, and the longer she stays in the race, the better the chances of McCain grabbing swing votes in November.

If you're a McCain fan, this may please you. And don't worry about the the Dems getting all the highlights right now, the damage being done by two intra-party delegates going after each other far outweighs the heavy publicity. I'm sure the McCain campaign is probably itching to get into to it with someone right now. Having one candidate to focus on will make life for the strategist much easier.

When you plan a campaign there are two things to consider: Getting YOUR MESSAGE out and attacking the opponent by pointing out where you stand differently on the issues. Where it gets dirty is when it gets personal and has no bearing on the issues. That's a topic for another blog. Right now, I for one am looking forward to a new fight, some real debate between two candidates from two different parties with many different stands on the issues.

Hillary is in the way now. It's time to say goodbye and support Obama. She can do a lot of damage to McCain by getting back on Capital Hill and using the Senate Floor as her bully pulpit. In a sense this would be a means to attack McCain on his home turf. There's some free advice from a political junkie to the Dems.

Bottom line is this: Obama has the delegate lead that cannot be overtaken, period. Hillary needs to step down for the good of her party so that everybody from both parties can engage in what may be the best election year since Kennedy vs. Nixon. So many issues with the Iraq War, the economy, global warming and health care.

Rasmussen is working to focus on the issues that matter. Hillary get out of the way please, so the rest of us can do the same thing.

What's your take?

What ae you talking about? Have you people completely lost your minds? This race aint over and Hillary would be nuts to get out.

1.Obama dint win Indiana, michigan, florida, Pennsylvania ,texas, newyork and california. It' will be a HUGE problem in november! If he can't win in these states ,it's a pipe dream to think it will be diffrent in november.

2. If the DNC is foolish enough to leave out voters in michigan and florida ,because of idoit type rules created by party boss leaders ,they can kiss the election good bye. If you dont think those voters are signifucant now, then they will make sure you pay for it in november.

3.Hillary is still wining. What's with this rabbit cry of wanting her to quit? The more she wins , more delegates flee to obama. Something is wrong here.Sounds like loony fascism.

4. Mathematically , with the help of Puerto Rico ,wins in Kentucky ,west Virginia and Oregon ,it is still possible Hillary can still take the nomination. This has the possiblities of stuning the world and the loony left. Oh The horror people!

5. The people who are voitng for Obama are the same people who are loking for someone to give them something for free. What ever happen to "ask not what your country can do for you ,but what you can do for your country?". Oh wait , this new democratic party that supports obama is really a soicalist party in disguise.

6. Mcain will beat Obama on the issues. You can count on it, because promises and reality are two diffrent things in government. It is what it is!

Some Votes dont count? rules are rules? Wow, this coming from the democratic party? If the Republicans said this ,look out, you guys would be screaming bloody murder! rules are rules huh,but yet many of you say Bush stole florida . How funny. how hypricritical.

Thieves would say the race is over. How can it be over when there are other States left to cast their votes and Candidates on the ballots that have now reached the required number of delegates. Seems as though this Country is HELL bent on putting the cart before the horse.

I am a firm Obama supporter, however I think it is important that Hillary continue in the race. This will help provide closure to all the Clinton supporters who think she still has a chance. I do think Senator Clinton should stop her destructive and divisive comments. She campaign is exhibiting a lack of class and recklessness. She also sounds a lot like Bush with her comments about blowing away Iran. We cannot afford the cowboy mentality of diplomacy any longer.

Hillary should not drop out of the race. She is the better candidate. I will nto vote for Obama. I am smart enough not to jump on the change without a plan bandwagon.

Hey the longer Billary stays in the more damage she does to Obama. There is only one thing i am enjoying more than seeing Billary losing the nomination and that is sitting back watching that vile evil woman destroy the democratic party and gradually destroy Obama in the process! Its obvious Hillary is all about whats best for HER and could care less about her party but hey thats the liberal way isn't it. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK HILL!!

The Obama campaign has played with Florida and Michigan for too long, they'll eventually going to blow up on his face. Dozens of billioners and organizations have offered to pay for a re-election from their own pockets but Obama has not allowed them. No, you can't. No no no.
Meanwhile he stresses how he wants clean politics where "every vote matters".

All the polls showed that Hillary was leading Obama with nearly 40 points both in Florida and Michigan and that's why Obama wanted to remove his name from the ballot, to ensure those states couldn't count. Only Michigan allowed him to do so and that's when Obama started to run several television ads in Florida despite the fact all the candidates had agreed not to campaign there. He still lost to Hillary big time and accuses her of campaigning in Florida.

The amount of hypocrisy coming out of his clean, innocent and hopeful little campaign is nauseating. He's 'change' is nothing but the old Chigaco style politics with a hypocritical "blame it on the others" -twist. Obama's campaign has broken the rules in every single state but no one makes a deal about it.

When Obama faces McCain it won't be the republicans who'll shoot him down. It's the furious Clinton supporters.

I agree that Hillary is in the way and that her staying in the race will only hurt the party. However, Hillary is ABOUT winning at all costs because she longs to take the reigns of the presidency any way that she can. Statistically, she cannot legitimately win the nomination. However, I look for Hillary to "negotiate," pressure, and connive her way into power. It is what she has been planning since she stood by her man so many years ago, and nothing will stand in her way from attempting it. Getting the votes in Florida and Michigan would not be fair, especially when all candidates did not campaign actively in both states. How would it be fair for Hillary to take these votes? Also, who would pay, is it fair for tax payers to pay for the DNC penalty rules? Maybe things can be straightened out for the next election, but not this one!

A good story you can tell even your youngest child and they will know the difference between a liberal Democrat and a conservative Republican.

I remember the time that Catherine, one of my daughter Shannon's friends when she was little, told me that she wanted to be President one day. Both of her parents are liberal Democrats and were standing there with us - and I asked Catherine, "If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?" Catherine replied, "I would give houses to all the homeless people." "Wow, what a worthy goal you have there, Catherine." I told her, "You don't have to wait until you are President to do that, you can come over to my house and clean up all the dog poop in the back yard and I will pay you $5. Then we can go over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $5 to use for a new house."

Catherine, who was about 4, thought that over for a second, while her mom looked at me, and Catherine replied, "Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and clean up the dog poop and you can pay him the $5."

Welcome to the Republican Party, Catherine

Mr. Obama has won far more delegates. He's won more states. He has far more popular votes, and most importantly, Americans are voting for him with their wallets. He's out earned Hillary 6 to 1. In fact Hillary is so untrustworthy, even her own supporters won't give her any money. You Clintonites have a real problem dealing with reality. Always have, always will. Goodbye Hillary and Good Ridance.

I dislike that there is so many people actually supporting Hillary. When she was first lady thier was countless scandels in the white house and most of them involving her. A good movie to watch is Hillary: The Movie. You can look it up on you tube and you will gind the whole thing. after watching I know she is not the one

John McCain, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama were walking down a Washington D.C. street when they came upon a homeless person.

John McCain gave the homeless person his business card and told him to come to his office for a job. He then took $20 out of his pocket and gave it to the homeless person.

Hillary was very impressed, so when they came upon another homeless person, she decided to help. She walked over to the homeless person and gave him directions to the welfare office. She then reached into John McCain's pocket and pulled out $20. She kept $15 for her administrative fees and gave the homeless person $5.

When they came upon yet another homeless person, Obama told the homeless person to 'have hope...change is coming'...and gave him nothing.

Now, do you understand the difference?

I am the Senior Web Producer for MyFoxDetroit.com and the Political Coordinator for the MyFox family of web sites coast to coast. I am crazy about politics, but not so much about the politicians. What's the difference? I like to think that government is about serving the needs of the people. I credit those who do that, and criticize those who don't.
