Given how close the race is now between Obama and Clinton, should Michigan restore it's political voice by hosting another Primary?

The first time around in January, only Clinton and Dennis Kucinich were on the ballot.  No Obama.  As you likely know our vote didn't really count anyway due to a penalty imposed by the Democratic National Party because Michigan moved up it's primary date in violation of national party rules.

If you restore the delegates in time for the convention, what percentage of them are going to be allocated to Obama.  He wasn't on the ballot in January, but 30% of the votes went to uncommited.  How do you split that up?  What would have happened if he was on the ballot?

Now many pundits are calling for a re-do, perhaps sometime in June.  This could make Michigan and Florida, a state that's in exactly the same position as we are, as the coronation states.  Bottom line: OUR VOTES COULD DETERMINE THE NOMINEE.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?  SHOULD WE HOST ANOTHER PRIMARY?

No Way being President you must be able to plan your moves down the road. Hillary showed this in Michigan and rightly deserves the reward of the delegates.

HI TALL, I DISAGREE... WE HAD OUR PRIMARY EARLY, I DON'T KNOW WHY, AND WE KNEW WE WOULD BE PUNISHED... OBAMA & CLINTON BOTH NEW THIS AND SAID -OK- WE WON'T CAMPAIGN THERE AND WON'T PUT OUR NAMES ON THE BALLOT, THEN SNEAKY CLINTON AT THE LAST MINUTE HAD HER NAME PUT ON, SO YES , SHE WON MICHIGAN, BUT NOT DESERVED

Look how smart the voters were the first time around. Almost 4000 people voted for Dodd and he wasnt even in the race. By the way the people running on the democratic side have a writen agreement the votes will not count.

I bet the only reason that he was not on the voting balet was because he is African American. I think Obama to win. I think he would be a good president for the United States of America. Alot better then Hillary Clinton. If she wins im moving to Canada! =)

OBAMA WAS NOT ON THE BALLOT-- BECAUSE HE CHOSE TO DISRESPECT THE VOTERS OF MICHIGAN. HILLARY DIDN`T. SHE DESERVES EVERY VOTE SHE GOT. IT BOTHERS ME THAT MANY BLACKS WILL VOTE FOR OBAMA SIMPLY BECAUSE OF RACE. WATCH CNN. GET THE OPINION OF SOME EXPERIENCED, INTELLEGENT, ANALYST. MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION IF WE HAVE ANOTHER PRIMARY. I FEEL OBAMA HAD HIS CHANCE WITH MICHIGAN VOTERS. I SAY IT`S TO LATE.

NO! Not another Primary...It will cost us MILLIONS to do so.

Hillary thought enough of us to come to Michigan, Obama didn't. The 156 delegates should go to Hillary. Besides, I think we should do away with these special votes. Every vote should count and NOT have delagates to over vote the rest of us. It is a old policy that should be abolished.

cotywertz93..... You said the only reason Obama wasn't on voting balet was because he is African American. What color was he when he was on the balet in other states?

I am wondering why we moved up the primary in the first place knowing our votes wouldn't count? Had I have known that, I wouldn't have taken the time to vote at all!!!!!!!! Did we take a vote on this? I don't remember or hearing of such a vote.

Clinton is the only one who thought enough about the state and the people that live here to put her name on the ballot. Now that its crunch time that other guy is going to want to take the delegates...Thats not even right. GO HILLARY!! and GO NATIONAL HEALTH CARE!!!

If you people in Michigan don't see that Clinton is desperate, you are all fools. Having been in Michigan since 2004, most people are only high school educated and worked in a plant. I have live in many parts of the world and that is the only experience you need to know what is good for America. America USED TO BE respected for integrity, now we are devils. Obama have live in some of those same countries and can relate. It is all about RESPECT. America has lost that and Bush compounded the world's disgust of America. Hillary Clinton is a reminder of that as well. IT IS TIME FOR CHANGE.....of attitude. How many of you Michiganders can honesly say that you have experienced another race or culture>

Michigan is not Texas and therefore, we don't vote twice. It was BHO who took his own name off the ballot(not very smart huh). The people of Michigan voted and those who voted noncomitted, organized themselves to just that. The people of Michigan have spoken and Hillary won. Michigan cannot afford another election. Seat our delegates! And by the way... If the candidates weren't allowed to campaign in Michigan how come I received a phone call prior to the election from Obama people and I saved two emails asking me to support Obama prior to the election (one was from him). Seat our delegates! Women for Hillary! Bring our men and women home! America and the world needs Hillary! Go Hillary!

Hillary's votes are invalid because she her opponent wasn't even on the ticket. Ridiculous that she feels that that is a win. It is not.

Rules are rules are rules. The governors (and governments) of Michigan and Florida CHOSE to break those rules, making the votes of their constituents invalid.

The fault lies squarely on their shoulders.

As much as I would love to have the chance to vote against Hillary Clinton, I think that things should stand as they are - the votes do not count.

Move on.

Who's going to pay for another vote? Taxpayers? Ok, so say they do have another vote and it goes the other way this time because Obama is now on the ballot. I can see it all now, Clinton wants the first vote and Obama wants the second. Wasted money.

Michigan knew the rules and chose NOT to follow them. Unfortunately, we all have to live with the consequences of our decisions.
Hopefully, Michigan has learned a lesson.
However, if the DNC would fund another Democratic Primary .....

Who will pay for this if we have a re-vote? Certainly the state can't afford it and I don't know who else would foot the bill. Personally although I did vote, I think they should let it go.

Definitely yes; Michigan voice needs to be heard! It is not right to penalize the Michigan citizens. We have the right to vote in a democratic society it makes no sense why we were penalized and if my voice is not heard I will definitely switch parties and vote Republican this Noevember. If my voice is not heard. This will be the first time in my 20 year voting history that I will be forced to vote for a Republican.

Why are party rules more important that the right of citizens to have their voice heard? This is just one more way our rights are being ignored or even stripped away. The Patriot Act isn't scary enough? Yes, we need to have another primary, and the Democratic Party should pay for it!

I am the Senior Web Producer for MyFoxDetroit.com and the Political Coordinator for the MyFox family of web sites coast to coast. I am crazy about politics, but not so much about the politicians. What's the difference? I like to think that government is about serving the needs of the people. I credit those who do that, and criticize those who don't.
