It's been a rough week for the mayor of Detroit.  First, he took a late-night drubbing from Jon Stewart on The Daily Show.  Then, a national news source published a picture of him in a red dress in a middle school play.  Adding fuel to the already burning fire, Mayor Kilpatrick initially denied that was him in the photo.  But after several people came forward saying it was indeed him, he did an about-face.  Some would say that's more proof of how this mayor operates.  What do you think?

You are so right Jeff! It is typical of everything that comes out of his mouth. First response is a lie until he is caught dead nuts,
then he tries to put another spin on it. This just proved that his first response is always a lie, and why lie about it? Who cares! He was just a school kid dressed up for a play, every time he opens his mouth lies pour out. I think everyone but his conspiritors are through with him now.

Actually, they put him in a red dress because he's black.

We spend so much time talking about the things that the Mayor has done to negatively impact our city but at the same time, we all seem to feed off of negativity. Who cares if the Mayor wore a red dress in the eighth grade. Talk about real issues. Talk about how on every block in the city of Detroit there are between 2-3 or more vacant homes, and that the number is still climbing. Talk about how people are going to lose their jobs because the cost of gas will makes it impossible for low wage workers to comute back and forth from work. Talk about the crime, the American Axle strike or something important. How about talking about SOLUTIONS to something that's important.

....sure be glad when this whole mayoral episode is over...bad news is, the newspapers and news channels will have nothing else to report. Go find some "feel good" stories among all the depressing news happening. That's news people can really use, especially in these days and times. Someone should launch a news channel or publication that refuses to report or air smut and negative content. I'd watch!

We can`t judge a man`s heart or motives, BUT we can judge the fruit of his actions. And Kwame`s fruit is stankin` and rotten to the core.

I think the photo and his initial reaction to it being found is hilarious. LOL The nan just can`t win no matter what he says or does.

According to John 7:24....Jesus said, "Judge not according to a mans appearance, but judge him according to righteousness".....We can judge

Bringing up a middle school photo is ridiculous. I probably wouldn't remember something like that either.

It just goes to show that the national media does not take the scandal(s) associated with KK seriously and does not understand how potentially far-reaching this all is.

A thought, did the paper publish the photo to test the Mayor's media watching service? Maybe it's for a real story, then.

The photo itself is not newsworthy.

The mayor is a crafty guy...He once again seems to suffer from selective memory loss, but then he can always apologize or "remember" when it becomes apparent that he's "caught" (in a red dress!), and his first reaction is "denial". He still doesn't get it. His credibility and character is non-existent! When do the "forgivers" stop forgiving?

Who cares what he looks like in a red dress.

What will he look like in Pin Stripes and a ball and chain attached to his leg?

Well Mid , I'm sure some of his new jail buddies will make him a real purdy red dress for him to wear on those " Special " occassions .

Enquiring Minds wants to know:

1. Will Kwame Kilpatrick come out of the closet and admit he loved it?
2. Will Kwame Kilpatrick deny he's ever had a marital affair with his wife?
3. Will Kwame Kilpatrick mother admit that she found him abandoned on a street corner?
4. Will Kwame Kilpatrick wear a darn near purdy dress on those special occassions?

Enquiring Minds wants to know.

I wore a dress in the third grade for halloween, and people can say what they may, but you never forget doing it.

Chris35, I agree! I watched when he said that HE IS A GREAT ACTOR AND A BAD MAN.... It verified my thoughts exactly. And littlechickie said "This just proved that his first response is always a lie, and why lie about it?" So true! He has no clue what's reality.

I think this whole thing is a non-issue. I'm not a fan of KK, but this story seems kind of petty...as if the newspaper set out to embarrass him.

Let him be judged by his actions as elected official of Detroit, not by something he did in a school play.

However, he probably should have ignored the story. Reacting to it as they did just made it into an even bigger story.

It really wouldn`t have been an issue at all if he didn`t deny it. People would have just giggled with him and moved on. He just made it worse, especially with the comments he made about himself.

itmustbekk - it's not so much that he wore a dress, it's how quick he was to deny it was him, how quickly his "protect my national image" press lady made phone calls defending him - and now she is just another person he made look like an axx by finally admitting it. (see the pattern here) He lies, then hides behind a skirt (Tolliver, Bully, Beatty, wifey, mommy) while it lies on his behalf, and then he fesses up! It's not the dress, it's his REACTION -- and the desire of these females to protect his lying, cheating, stealing image while putting their own image on the line.

C'mon even today in high school for "senior week" they have different days planned i.e., senior skip day, dress down day, and some even include "switch day" where guys dress as girls and girls dress as guys.
