General Wesley "Weasley" Clark appearing on "Fact The Nation" earlier today dismissed the military experience of John McCain. Saying the figher squadron McCain led was not a "combat squadron" Weasley attempted to discredit his time in this role.  Seeing Clark is a big time supporter of Obama, this comes as no real suprise..

However, these remarks were made by the same general "fired" as Supreme Commander NATO Forces for disobeying  direct orders not to use "cluster bombs".  This is the same DEMOCRAT, under the guise of his own "military experience" who, during the March to Baghdad, predicted our forces would suffer "in excess of 50,000 casulaties".

Weasley Clark is no more than a stooge of the Democratic Party.  A Weasle who comes out only when he smells face time  and only when, in his own warped view, he can somehow subvert.. In this case, it was an attempt to dishonor someone who, unlike himself, is a true hero of this Republic.

The Democrats need to cease the trotting out of idiots like Weasley Clark. Each and everytime they do, it only further shows their own ineptness, stupidity and total failure to comprehend just what is going on.  We are in a war..! Nothing less.  The enemy we face is, as has been said previously, unlike any this nation or for that matter, the entire world has ever faced before.  Merciless, blood thristy and Godless.. Led by power hungry lunatics who have, for their own purpose and personal gain, subverted one of the worlds leading religons.

Get a grip!

Idiots like Weasley Clark need need not even be seen, much less heard.  For the media to trot out "spokesman" such as him, this ony goes to prove, beyond any doubts, just how much in the tank they are for Obama and his empty suit politics.

My opinion is that although we can't totally dismiss Senator McCain's military background when deciding on his ability to be president, there is some merit to what General Clark said. I didn't watch the entire interview but I did see the portion replayed where he made his remarks. He is making the distinction between being in command and being in the service. Would you agree that a lower echelon military man would not necessarily have been required to display the same strengths and abilities as someone in executive command. So I think General Clark makes a valid distinction although he obviously has an agenda in making it as well. I honor and respect Senator McCain's service but as I've said before, in my mind this is only a piece of the entire puzzle and will not automatically make him a better commander-in-chief that Senator Obama. Though, without doubt, either will be miles above Bush.

Spoken like a true liberal... Your "disclaimer" sure looks an awful lot like one I remember seeing somewhere eles.. does it not...? As for Wesaley Clark.. I would NOT, in any way rely on anything said by someone who was FIRED due to their disobedience of a DIRECT ORDER... You have a military background.. What is the manner of action called for under the UCMJ for such an act..? The FACT Weasley has an agenda has been crystal ever since his "estimation" of 50,000+ casulaties remarks... He like Obama, has no values.. morals or ethics... However, unlike Obama, he has taken, on numerous occasions, and each and everytime he makes his "agenda remarks" breaks such oaths... He fails to live up to one, which I along with thousands of others hold most sacred... "DUTY, HONOR, COUNTRY"... Go back... read "To walk with Giants" CAREFULLY.... there is another OATH three... This speaks volumes... But hey.. anyway... thanks for reading.. and thanks for the comments... Love our "discussions"... ! Duck

puppet,

I think being in Command of a Training Squadron after being a POW for 5 1/2 years pretty much trumps Obama's one trip to Iraq. So when it comes on who would be a Commander-In-Chief the arrow points to McCain. And if Obama does become President, would he pick Clark has one of his military advisors? GOD help us if he does.

Tell you what... IF and I pray it does NOT happen, Obama does manage to HOODWINK the majority of voters within this Republic... It will not be for Weasley to become "one of his advisors"... I think, in all seriousness, it will be for Obama to name him as either Secty of Defense or Secty of The Army... Then GOD help us... !! Duck

Having both been in the military, you and I know that there are good commanders and bad commanders. In fact, I haven’t served directly under any who I feel would have the skills to serve as commander-in-chief and I don't think I'd be going out on a limb to think you might agree with that. So, in my opinion, I think that his military experience gives him a very minor edge over Senator Obama in regards to serving in that capacity. Also, in my opinion, managerial skills are much more important as commander-in-chief because one would, hopefully, surround themselves with military professionals to help advise on military matters.

Wow. I just can't win on this site I guess. One poster was razzing me about somehow trying to post my opinions as fact and another was trying to say I just parroted the opinions of others. So I try to now to put this disclaimer in all my posts in an attempt at full disclosure, and you disagree with that. I guess it's true that you can't please all the people all the time. I’ll keep the disclaimer for now and put up with the “slings and arrows.”

If you are convinced that he has an agenda and that what he is stating is not factual then you have the right not to agree with him, of course. You can also acknowledge that he has an agenda but research the "facts" he presents and see if ( at least that portion of) what he presents as fact actually is factual. I don't automatically assume anyone is lying simply because I perceive they have an agenda. Again, don't "rely" on anything he says, but don't discount it either. I disagree with much of what Rush Limbaugh and Randi Rhodes have to say. I question the authenticity of many of their claims and don't rely on them as a source of information. But that's not to say that I believe they NEVER say anything valid. In my opinion, no one is ever as bad as you think they are, or as good.

The "Duck Pond" is located high in the Blue Ridge Mountains Yet, just because I CHOSE to live there, getting the impression everyone who does is somehow a senseless, uneducated redneck would be going down the wrong path.. As to the education point.. Masters in History and Political Science along with several additional undergraduate and associate degrees.. but I do admit freely, my spelling is horrible!! The Duck is somone who, for the better part of life, has been a stanch conservative.. However, admission must be made that on three occasions votes were cast for Democrats.. and to The Ducks eternal shame and lament, there was even one for which much work was done in order to see their election.. However, with this confession, never fear.. This is NOT a situation which will EVER occur again.. The shame of being so gulible and stupid last for a lifetime and using the LAME EXCUSE of being young and impressionable does not change the awful truth..! Some say The Duck is an "Ultra Conservative"... True... In reality, The Duck is so conservative as to make Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee combined appear as if they far left wing liberals! GERRY OWEN!!
