Okay it has been a while since I wrote something, I mean Kwame's in jail so there has been a lack of really gift wrapped material...although I have good info that is about to change for the Kilpatrick clan...but that is for another day.
Lion's fans, how much can you take? I mean really, are you going to continue to pay your hard earned dollars for tickets in this economy to watch things like what happened in todays Thanksgiving Day game? I have been given tickets multiple times and have not been able to give them away fast enough, I have never been to Ford Field, although I will for this years Motor City Bowl, I have never even been to a Lion's game. They have never really been able to stir enough passion in my spirit to get me to believe that investing in tickets to see them is worth while. So I ask, really, why do some of you continue to buy tickets?
I could understand if it was like a Pee Wee game and your kids were playing, hmmm...not really far off in talent, but these are supposed professional players being paid millions of dollars to perform at a top level. When are you, the die hard fan, going to demand to recieve a return on your entertainment dollars? Every team loses once in while, I have been disapointed many a time after a loss by the Wings, Tigers, Pistons, Michigan Football....god that hurt this year, but they have all delivered something in the last 11 years that the Lion's have not. Multiple winning seasons, playoff runs, Bowl Games, and a slew of championships. Could Bill Ford Sr. really care that little about the fans, the teams reputation, his own reputation, to not be willing to actually hire the right people to recruit, train and coach a team driven to win?
Hey Congress! Please, as one of the requirements for a federal loan to Ford Motor Company, require the Fords to sell the team. Heck as e revenue generator why doesn't the U. S. Government buy the team, and then let fans at least claim the donation for tickets and beer as itemized deductions!
But here is what I want for Christmas from the Lion's team. Quit. Its obvious now that at 0-12 you have nothing to play for, and probably aren't planning on playing that hard anyway. I really can't fault you for that, I would not risk a career ending injury for this team owner. Maybe if you all went on strike against the owners, demand a trade, refuse to play, maybe just maybe Bill would get the message. Advertisers should refuse to buy time during televised Lion's games as well, 'cause I got news for you, not many of us are watching anyway so no one is seeing any of the slick ads you are paying good money for.
So please, do us all a favor, don't go for the record, just end it now, call the teams you have left on the schedule and give them all an early Christmas gift as well, tell them to take the week off too so they can rest up for a real opponent. PLEASE!!!

William Clay Ford...you..you personally are an embarasment to the NFL, to the City of Detroit, the State of Michigan, Lion's fans, and any other person who has ever watched a professional football game.
Mr. Ford, you are the owner, for once in your life take control of the fanchise that you own and demand accountability, and start by firing the self agrandised idiot Matt Millen, if it is not painfully obvious to you that he has absolutely no clue, then maybe it is you that has gone "full retard".
Are you going to have your team spot every apponent 21 points this year? And really, how do you go from the lead against the Packers to giving up 24 points in 5 minutes? Three consecutive passes intercepted for a touchdown, and Joey Harrington was the problem with the offense right? Wait, these are the question that YOU should be asking your team president, maybe he could pull his head out of your a__ long enough to try and answer you...yea right.
Please, sell the team to someone who actually cares if his team wins a few games!
The latest swirl of controversy is the photos of the Spanish basketbell ball teams where players are pulling the corners of their eyes to make themselves look slant eyed. We have all done it as kids pretending to be oriental, but these were not kids, and I don't truly believe that they were pretending.
There is a reason that these photos have only been used in ad campaigns in Spain, and not published for world view, Spain is acknowledged as one of the most racist countries in the world. Personally they are entitled to there opinions, however ignorant and uninformed they may be, and I could care less. But what is a little irritating is their refusal to acknowledge the inappropriate nature of the ad, and playing it off as a joke. And here is why;
A very popular candy in Spain is a certain type of chocolate covered raisins, and forgive me if I have the name wrong as it has been awhile since I have seen their TV commercial, but the candy is called "Negritos". And the TV ad that still plays nationally in Spain basically consists of dancing chocolate covered raisins, but not like the Clay-mation ones we had here in the U.S. a while back. These dancing raisins are holding spears, with big lips and bright white eyes, I don't think it leaves much to the parody they are trying to make, but you can make your own conclusion.
So this latest action by the Spainish team is nothing new to them, just happens that this time the world was watching.
I thought what a great way to spend Saturday evening, watching the Olympic boxing coverage. To see some the new up and coming amatuers from around the world, but wait, they are scoring it how, by four guys pressing a button to score hits? This is the idea of open scoring for the Olympic boxing, one judge on each side of the ring watching the bout, when a boxer lands the white part of his glove on the front of his oponent from the waist up that is a scoring hit. And as the hits are registered they are displayed on the score board just like a baseball game, but wait, three judges have to hit the button within one second of the blow, or within one second of each other for the punch to score a point.
I had to stop watching, I could not stand it any longer, two young men standing in the ring pummeling each other, the score does not change, a head snaps back, no score, punishing body blows, no score change! A crunching blow knocks down a boxer.....NO SCORE CHANGE!
Okay I know there has always been the argument of corruption in judges in the way boxing matches are scored, and this was the IOC's way of trying to take that element away. But you know if I don't want someone to win I just don't press the button. Of course the real problem is there is no way three out of four judges viewing a fight from four different angles can possibly react in time to press the button to score the punch. After all most people cannot program their DVR, let alone operate their TV remote, how are these four guys, viewing four angles going to be able to act in time to score the fight?
I say again, what a joke!
