I would like to the supporters of Kwame Kilpatrick a chance to sound off, please, tell me what has this man done for the City of Detroit that trumps all of the current chaos and would warrant you standing by him, and why he should stay in office. Do you truly feel that he is a great man and mayor, or is it just that you feel you need to protect a black man that you perceive to be being harrassed by the white man? If that is the case then you need to open your eyes and see that the only white men involved are Kwame's high priced lawyers.

What has Kwame done for the City of Detroit that overshadows these points:

  1. A lawyer who lied on the stand under oath, you can twist the meaning of the questions any way you chose, but anyone with any common sense saw the answers for what they were, a lie.
  2. Lied to the City Council, and tried to arrange an elaborate scheme of paper to decieve the local news, city government, and ultimately steal $8.4 million to cover up an affair. Remember your Sunday School, lies will only breed more lies to cover up the lies you told.
  3. Has assaulted multiple individuals, be honest, everyone saw him on TV shove the reporter from Channel 7 not once, but twice. How many other times has he done this and worse that we have not seen?
  4. A party may have never been proven at the Mansion, and that is probably because it was not a big party, just a handful of close friends and EPU officers. But as a result there is still an unsolved murder, and children who will never grow to know their mother.
  5. He has personally destroyed the lives and carreers of numerous city employees and police officers who were only trying to do their jobs, but got too close to the truth on what Kwame was doing or had done.
  6. Sat back and watched as the Detroit Public School system has completely decayed, I know they have their own Board, but you cannot tell me that he has no influence or ability to force change.
  7. Abused the priviledge of a city issued credit card racking up a couple of hundred thousand dollars in just two years before the auditor caught on, by the way, you paid for that to.
  8. Created a shame of a non-profit called the Detroit Civic Fund, with a board made of family members drawing huge salaries out of your contributions, and paying for Kwame's family vacation at a resort spa in California.

At every turn this man has lied, cheated, and stolen from the citizens of Detroit, but yet you want to say all is forgiven, leave him alone, he is doing a good job. Is this the way that you want your sons and daughters to behave? Because this is the role model that you are insisting they look up to.

I do not get it, could Kwame really be that arrogant, is it really possible that he still believes that he has not done anything wrong, or that he has a chance of getting off with the right jury? Or is it just possible that he has no electricity to the top floor and the lights are still off?

If I understand this right, he can resign, be found guilty as a cilvillian, serve his sentence and be elligible to run for office again, but if found guilty while in office he will be inelligible to run for office again. And if found guilty of perjury he will most certainly lose his law license as well. Why? Why Kwame have you not resigned and started talking to Kim Worthy to cut a deal? I know you are no rocket scientist, but it honestly leaves one to seriously question your mental state and common sense for not taking steps to protect yourself, your family, and your future as a lawyer.

I hope this is real clear in your mind Kwame...you are going to be convicted of the assault charges. It does not matter how many high priced lawyers you may have, you will be convicted. There are too many documented, video taped scenes of you shoving people that annoy you out of your way, when the dots are connected with the testimony...out you go.

Things are coming to a head quickly, are you going to grow up and have an adult moment and do the right thing. Or, are both you and Christine going to remain stubornly silent going down in flames, and taking your families as well as the entire region and state down with you?

I guess the voting block in the 13th Congressional District had nothing to say in Tuesday's primary, it was the time for the people to rise up and send a clear message to the Kilpatrick family and the rest of the local leaders a clear message...time for change. But no, only 53,351 votes were cast in the primary for the 13th district. I can only imagine that there must be a few hundred thousand voting age adults in this district since it covers a large chunk of eastern Wayne County including part of the city of Detroit and many Downriver communities. What an opportunity for those of us outside the city of the Detroit to have at least a little say in things by maybe bumping Cheeks-Kilpatrick off the ballot in November, but I guess all of those vocal people just decided it wasn't worth it.

So once again we have the mother who refers to her son as " Ya'lls Boy " on the ballot, and I have no doubt that she will win, again, and nothing will change, again. And don't forget this is the Mom who gave us Kwame, the great hope of Detroit now facing multiple felony charges including a new one for assault soon to be announced. And lets not leave out dear old Dad Bernard, who is also under investigation by the FBI for possible corruption charges related to the "alledged" bribing of City Council members for votes on the Synagro contract. I mean why on earth would we not want these people in charge of billions of our tax dollars?

I had hoped that when I went to the polls and crossed parties for the specific reason of voting against the incumbent in an effort to keep her off the ballot, that many of my fellow neighbors would have had the urge to do the same to try to rescue our metro area. But when I got to my polling place....there was only three of us there voting in the middle of the afternoon. Once again the few have hijacked the voice of the many, because the many just do not seem to care.

Its about time that some people start to hold KK accountable for his actions, I still have my doubts about Judge Ronald Giles but he took a leap forward today in cutting though the bull by revoking KK's bond. Now the mayor can actually start to feel like every other criminal defendant, random drug screens, restricted travel, doesn't feel good does it KK?

You are going down in flames, the only question is whether you are actually going to continue to embarass yourself and the city you say you love by crashing all the way to the ground, or are you going to bail out, resign, and save some shred of self-respect. Maybe if you get some time you can stop by Aretha's house in the burbs and she can show you how to spell it R-E-S-P-E-C-T, although I still doubt that you know what it means.

And now just a quick note to the wise Nancy Pelosi who graced the area with her presence for KK's Mom's re-election campaign, Nancy please go away, we are all dumber just for having to listen to some of things that come out of your mouth. You referred to the First Mom as a "not only a great leader, but a great Mother", my goodness do they not have newspapers in DC? She sure has done a great job with KK hasn't she, of course this is the same woman that referred to her son at a public rally as "Ya'lls Boy", yep, she gets my vote for Mom of the year.

Dante may get credit for the Divine Comedy, but someday the antics of Detroit government of the early 21st Century will far surpass any of the great classic comedies. KK you have not done it all alone, but you sure are not helping it go away....

  1. Want to have sex with multiple women and have it paid for with public funds? Run for mayor of Detroit, and don't worry if you get caught just keeping denying it and pretending no one knows.
  2. Former member of Congress and afraid you are about to be charged with misuse of your campaign funds, never fear just lay low for awhile and you can be elected to Detroit City Council....Tiara not required.
  3. Losing a political argument, just insult your foe with clever sayings like "Do it baby", or "Shrek", but be careful next time you're out with you're high powered U.S. Congressional husband he may introduce you using your maiden name. Come on John you can do better than that, or does that big mouth of hers have other talents?
  4. Short on cash? Have your contractor friend marry your sister, then you can guide bids his way for conveinent monetary favors later. Wonder how Christine's driveway is holding up, better than KK's marriage I'll bet.
  5. Defense case not going well? Just call out everyone publicly for race baiting and lynch mob mentallities, then hire a bunch of expensive white lawyers, including one from Alabama, amazing how far we have come from the marches in Selma.
  6. Police come to the door, just gently escort them from the property, hmmmm...gently escort, KK who was that TV reporter you 'gently' escorted out of your way on your way into the church to give the fake apology? I think it was the same one that you 'gently' shoved into the wall in a corridor in DC, that one is on tape too. Your a thug, but we are all watching, all the time, you are not going to get away.
  7. Sherrif Evans, why wasn't KK arrested today for assault? Oh thats right, your daugher works in the mayors office doesn't she, 'nuff said.
  8. But hey all will be okay, there are so many young up and coming potential new people to run for leadership positions in the future....uh wait...Detroit Public Schools is only graduating 27%, well strike that thought.
  9. It will get better there though since the DPS board is working to rescue the kids...uh wait...they had scuffles during meetings too, and a board member is accused of questionable child care...I have to admit he doesn't quite look right does he....and there is how much money missing...er I mean in deficeit  $400 million.
  10. Maybe the Gov will help them...oh yea...she stepped in this week too didn't she, just couldn't resist that urge to try to get some inside information so maybe she won't have to step up and be a leader.

This whole ordeal is a joke, it is funny, sad, and pathetic all at the same time, and no one seems to care, it is just accepted as business as usual in the D. When are the leaders going to step up and take responsibility? And when will the city start to hold them accountable? The ship is going down and KK is riding the bow with a pager in one hand and a box of Trojans in the other.

The past few days activities in Detroit should make it clear that the entire managment structure is corrupt, from the low level gophers right up to the political cronies, to the judicial system that is suppossed to be watching out for the people. And the worst part about it all is that the citizens do not care enough to make enough noise to bring about any change, and why should they, after all they voted them all into place, so this must be the administration that they want.

The city council can't hold a session without continuing childish activity, can't agree, holds dearly to the old racial dividing lines, and I know it is illegal for police officers to go on strike, but after yesterdays vote to delay promotion exams they should all take turns using up their sick days. Why should Kilpatrick appointees get 40% and above pay increases while the police on the street won't be able to hold their 2% increase without the exam taking place. Hello......anyone on the council looked at what it costs just to drive to work anymore?

And what is the problem with asking the governor to remove the mayor? Is it because she is white? She is a fellow democrat to most of the cities voting block. You all had better understand quick or else the city will never recover, this is not a black against white issue, even though Mr. Kilpatrick and Monica Conyers would like you to believe that it is. This is about removing someone from office that had the people been able to see through his BS would have never voted him in anyway. This is about someone who has used his office for personal gain, repeatedly lied, cheated, interferred and bullied his way through several years of mediocraty at best. Mr. Kilpatrick this arrogant, self-serving mentality has got to STOP!! Enough, go away already, what are you holding on for?

And when is the business community going to step up and demand change? Mr. Illitch why don't you make a deal with the Pallace of Auburn Hills and move the Wings home games for the Stanely Cup playoffs there, out of the city and out of the county. The administration is just going to squander any revenue anyway. Someone please use your position of influence to demand that someone make a decision.

And last, was is just me or did Judge Giles seem to have an arrogant little smile on his face as he spoke yesterday in court? It is very obvious that the 36th District Court is not going to be impartial in this case, and if anyone can not see that then you must have your heads in the sand waiting for all to be over. I guarantee if you or I were in court we would be paying full freight for any discovery fees, but yet the defense team that is made up of $700 an hour lawyers feels they should not have to pay the $7500 in copying fees, Beatty and Kilpatrick spent that yesterday in attorneys fees. Sorry but you got yourself into this mess, now pay your share like everyone else, but of course you will not, you haven't since the day you took office and you are not about to start now.

I said it before, and I will repeat it, I hope I am wrong, but Kwame is going to get away with it, it is abvious that the entire Detroit machine is working to achieve that end. And not only will he get away with it, the city will foot the bill for his defense, and when it is all over he will get re-elected for another term because that is how short the peoples memories are, and because they have proven over the years through election after election that this is the type of leadership they want No change will take place until everyone stops trying to play their version of the race card, and starts making decisions based on the good of the people, all of the people.

I ask you, what is there in the Bible that is so terrible, so scary, that would cause someone to sue to keep them from being given away to anyone who wants one at an elementary school campus in New Orleans? Are we afraid that someone might read about love, forgiveness, sacrifice, and looking out for one another?

The Gideons were at a school in New Orleans giving away Bibles for free to any student who wanted one, the school principal even sent out a memo to every teacher saying that this was a voluntary participation event, no one had to take one. But I guess some poor student named Jane Doe, felt pressured into taking a Bible, so her Father John Doe with the help of the Anti-Christian Lawyers Union sued the school to stop the give away. They were so scared they were afraid to file the lawsuit under their real names, hmmmm, I don't think there is book out there that scares me that much.

Okay I know, I will get all kinds of people that will remind me about some separation of church and state, baloney, there is not one sentence in the US Constitution that says any such thing. What the First Amendment actually says is "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;". So what exactly does that word "respecting" mean, well I certainly can tell you based on history that it does not mean we can't pray in school, that we can't teach creation, that we can't have a picture of Jesus or the Ten Commandments anywhere. It means that the government will not establish an official church, nor will it interfere with your right to believe what you want, and you can't interfere with mine either. But I guess we don't teach history anymore.

Why did the Quakers and Puritains come to the New World? It was to escape the oppression of religious freedoms in England, because a certain King Henry VIII had wanted a divorce a few years back and the Pope would not grant him one, so he destroyed every Catholic church, monastery and abbey in England and established the Church of England with himself as the head, and the Archbishop of Canterbury as his administrator. Now this is a bit of an oversimplified version, but our founding fathers did not want that little bit of history to be repeated here, hence the First Amendment, they just worded it in such a way that the courts have felt free to interpret it in whatever the current political fashion seems to dictate.

So of course the ACLU will tell you that the Gideons can not hand out free Bibles because the court says so, but yet it is perfecly fine to teach our 13 and 14 year old students how to properly use a condom. Of course the same courts there say that it is also okay for a white student to hang a noose from a tree, but not okay for a black student to defend himself. I would guess that there are much bigger problems in Louisiana that need addressing than the handing out of free Bibles.

I just finished reading the Free Press article, Picking Trash Isn't Likely To Repair Lives, by Judith C. Redmond from the Rochester Center for Behavioral Medicine. And she feels that a community service order to pick up trash on the side of the road is an innopropriate punishment for someone convicted of something such as DUI. That it is not dignified nor related to the crime, and can cause feelings of shame. Well isn't that part of what punishment is supposed to acheive, making the person who commited the crime feel some amount of shame as a deterrent to commiting the crime again?

Judith, how can you actually say that collecting trash is counterproductive? Was it productive when the other person commited the illegal act of tossing the trash out the window of their car to land on the side of the road in front of someones home or business? You also said that "from a human perspective, it perpetuates negative stigma and feelings of shame", I would bet that the union employees that pay their mortgages with the wages that they earn from hauling away your refuse are not ashamed. But lets get back to the issue of crime and punishment.

I would bet that the 20 something that is ordered to wear an orange vest for a few hours and clean up the roadway that they disrespected by driving drunk on it feels a lot less ashamed than they would sitting in court for vehicular homicide. Or maybe when they get to prison for killing someone while drunk and find out that their cell mate finds them very attractive, maybe that would be something shameful to avoid. The whole idea of punishment is designed to be a deterrent, either by removing the criminal from society, or by having to perform a punishment that will make someone think twice before doing the same thing again. And honestly for the amount of taxes that I pay I would much rather have the miscreants of society out performing some service to the community rather than just sitting in lockup at my expense.

Oh, and your idea of community service incorporating apprenticeships and vocational training, the idea of community service is to serve the community, not for the community to serve the offender. I do agree that people with severe underlying problems should be offered the opportunity for help and assistance, but for the most part as a society we need to stop looking for reasons as to why we may have caused someone to commit a crime and start making people accountable for their actions.

This latest installment of the Rape of Detroit by the Hip-Hop Thug Kwame Kilpatrick is absolutely outrageous, and if it does not simply infuriate every taxpaying citizen within the city, well then you deserve exactly what you elected to a second term of theft and arrogance!

City police officers and fire fighters going door to door delivering information packets loaded with Kilpatrick propaganda, what an incredible, blatant misuse of city payroll and possible resources to produce, print, and assemble this nonsense. Starting with every citizen up to the city council, you need to demand to know who paid for this packet, who paid for the cd-rom, the paper, the bags. Who paid to have it produced, printed, and assembled, who paid to pack the bags, who loaded them, whose vehicles were used, and who paid for the gas.

How many citizens were left without protection while the officers who patrol their streets were going door to door on this errand for the Prince of Detroit? For every crime that took place without the protection of those officers the mayor should be charged as an accomplice for causation. How long was the response time for fire service since fire fighters were away from their posts on this errand? The Free Press just reported that fire chiefs complained they did not have enough staff for the stations that the mayor wants to rehab under his ridiculous stimulus package that stimulates just $15 million out of $300 million. If you suffered a fire loss during this time period because of a slow response time then you should sue the mayor's office for your deductible and the increase in your rate.

How much payroll was wasted today on a political errand, I do believe that is illegal to use city or county personel to do political errands, campaigning or canvassing. What is going to be next?

Hello, Governor Granholm, get off the bench and make a decision for once, show some leadership, show a spine to do something reguardless of your fear of the political backlash. Otherwise go back to Canada if you just want to be a spectator we have enough of those hear already.

The total oblivious nature to what is going on Detroit can be summed up by the City Council appearance on Monday by Barbara Rose-Collins, on national TV she shows up to chamber wearing a tiara because its hear birthday. I am all for being young at heart but at this particular time in Detroit's history it is really time for everyone to look and act like an adult in a position of responsibility, not like a ten year old on her way to a party at Chuck E. Cheese.

Please people, enough already!

The Detroit City Council passed a vote of No Confidence in the mayor as well as asking him to resign, of course this vote was non-binding and had no authority. And, of course Mr. Kilpatrick scoffed at it, ignored it, and pretended that nothing was wrong and took his typical passing shots at the council as he does with anyone who opposes him.

So what do you do after you pass a vote of No Confidence? You then show that you have no confidence in that person or the office that he represents, and refuse to give him the opportunity to mock the city by pretending that it is business as usual. Good for the council for finally standing up and supporting your previous vote with todays action. And as for Monica Conyers and her priviledged followers, GET OVER IT! Part of being a member of a governing body is supporting the decisions made by a majority vote of that body, you do not have to agree with it, but you don't have to whine about it either to the media by finger pointing like the mayor does. That loud mouth bully behavior may work out for you in the bars you hang out in, but you need to check that attidude at the door when you come to work.

City Council took another big step today toward restoring some respect to city government, I hope the citizens are really paying attention and choose to remove some of the constant aggitators on the council in the next election, maybe even before. It is time the citizens took back their city and give to honest, caring and trustworthy public stewards to manage, and when they betray that trust, insult the integrity of or embarass the city and it's people then out they should go.

Monica, don't think for one minute that everyone in Washington D.C. hasn't seen your ridiculious outburst from the other day, I wonder how much more John is going to put up with as your silliness affects him probably more than you.

What is it folks, is there something in the water, are the exhaust fumes finally taking there toll? What in the world has gotten into seemingly everyone in a position of leadership in the city of Detroit? Does everyone just want their two cents worth in the news, or are we now just hooked on the drama?

One of the first things that I learned when I started out in business was that you never, and I repeat NEVER, under any circumstances, if at all possible, draw negative attention to yourself, your business unit, or your parent company. The only attention that you want is the posting of a positive operating statement at the end of every month, and if negativity was going to be unavoidable then you present it yourself in a positive manner up the chain of command along with your plan to correct it. You don't anger your customers, you don't engage in questionable business practices, and you never falsify your records, your take your lump if necessary and you don't make that mistake again.

Not in Detroit. Here we have a mayor that refuses to believe that he has done anything wrong, in fact its actually everyone elses fault if you listen to the rhetoric. He makes negative headlines across the country, conventions are cancelled, money is lost, etc. etc. The NAACP is going to hold its annual fundraising dinner, and for their key note speaker they chose the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, instead of any of a dozen speakers that could have come in with a calming message of peace, and the urging for all to work together toward a common goal. Now I have never heard an entire sermon of Reverend Wright, and I am not going to judge him on the sound bites, but certainly the national media will descend on the city to cover the event in the hopes of more drama that they will spin onto the presidential campaign. Is this the attention we want right now? And to top it off, today we have Councilwoman Monica Conyers childish outburst all on video, and by tomorrow morning on every major radio station, television station, and in every major newspaper nationwide. How much more in lost revenue will this cost the city? I am sorry to say, but Mrs. Conyers your words and actions today made you sound like a teenage street urchin instead of an elected official of the city put in office to solve problems for the city, not to add to them. You should be ashamed of yourself, oh and by the way, calling the Council President Shrek, he should take that as a compliment as the character Shrek exhibited common sense and courage, something you may want to consider.

Negative attention, don't want it, don't need it, do not anger your constituents, unlike customers who won't come back, they just won't vote for you.

Show a positive operating statement, stop wasting our time and money with meaningless hearings and votes and get some work done. If there is a city chartered process to remove the mayor then just do it, there is no need to draw everything out. As long as you all remain divided against yourselves you are doomed to failure, right now this city needs a lot less talking and a lot more action, POSITIVE action!

Governor,

How much longer are you going to sit on the sideline and pretend to ignore what is going on in the city of Detroit? Stop telling us about the role you may have to play later and play it now. Telling everyone that the legal system must play out first is a cop out, and a cowardly response to try to avoid political fallout. With every day that goes by Mr. Kilpatrick's actions, or the actions of his staff do more damage to the region the Southeast Michigan, and to the state itself. They are wasting taxpayer dollars by pursuing e-mail campaigns during work hours, hiring media watch groups, paying for private lawyers, filing constant motions to block investigations, and on and on.

Where is the evidence you ask? Well obviously the Wayne County Prosecutor felt there was enough evidence to fill formal charges, and there is an old adage that if there is smoke pouring out every window then there is probably a fire inside. Mr. Kilpatrick can walk into court as a private citizen, or he can walk in with cameras rolling in one of his $2500 suits and 1950's fedora. Which one plays out better in the national media?

Last time I checked the old Detroit guard that you came up in politics under has long since moved on, or died, you can stop being beholden to them, especially now since you do have the top position in the state. When you first ran for governor I crossed parties to vote for you because I thought you were the better choice at the time, your continued inaction will guarantee that I don't make that choice a second time. And I would be willing to bet that there are a lot of people in the state that feel the same way, so in the words of a famous TV personality, "Stop the Insanity!"

Every day that this continues it damages your credibilty as a leader as well.

Christine are you beginning to see the cards that are being stacked against you? The political double standard, the cronyism that has persisted for years, and now the blatant bias in this case against you.

While I do not believe that you are innocent in all of this by any means, I do believe that everyone is due equal treatment under the law, I even think there may be some documentation written about it called the 14th Ammendment to the U.S. Constitution. The magistrate that ordered you tethered should re-read it, and then offer an apology for his court behavior. I also think that the court has unwhittingly set a precedent in this case by denying your right to pursue work, while Mr. Kilpatrick is free to come and go, last I looked you were both charged with nearly identically crimes, why the double standard? Please I do not want to hear that he has to travel because he is a mayor of major U.S. city, his last trip was purely personal in nature, and with the age of video conferencing there is no need for him to leave the county.  Any other citizen would have had their bond revoked and would have been jailed until trial after a trip to Texas for personal relaxation!

How much longer are you going to remain silent and let this man belittle you through his arrogant actions? In a span of just a few years you have gone from a position of prominence with a six figure salary, to divorced, unemployed, with a damaged reputation and possibly a wasted education as a lawyer to be if convicted. Why? What do you owe this childish thug in a man's body? The only thing I can think of is that there is something worse yet that you know about that will come out if you testify against him. But I ask you, would you rather the information come out because you chose to come forward with the truth on your own? Or would you rather it come out in just another edition of this ongoing drama? Despite both of your best efforts everything that was attempted to be covered up has come out, and any other secrets will come out eventually. It is evident from recent photos that your soul is in agony, everyone can see it in your eyes, come forward and end all this drama and put yourself at peace before it destroys you completely.

I know the pressure must be enormous, but it is time, time to heal yourself, and time to come forward as the bearer of truth that this city so desparately needs before it is too late.

I have taken a few days to consider all the things that we saw to and from the Tigers opening day game at Comerica Park, and truly I am amazed at what people coming into Detroit had to see.

First of all let me say that our time in the city was great, as is almost always the case, the game was good even though we lost, and the area around Foxtown looks alive. It is just too bad the city did not prepare the entry way to the city for all of the out of the area guests before hand. I would have thought that with all of the construction, the freeway closed, that the city would have taken the time to clean up the Fort Street corridor to downtown, what a sad state that area is in.

I lost count of how many burned out houses and buildings that we passed, how many empty homes and buildings in various stages of disrepair, crumbling and falling down. What in the world was the city thinking? You had to know that thousdands of people were going to travel this route, not only for downtown events but as alternate route everyday, and this is how we leave it? I looks scary during the day, I can not image how it will look on the way home from a night game this summer.

I know to get rid of this eyesore is not cheap, and lets forget about trying to sell $300 million in bonds in this economy, besides, at this time people in Hell would not buy ice water from Mr. Kilpatrick. And maybe my suggestion won't make sense, and can't be done, as I am just an observer and not a professional thief...er...I mean politician. But if I was Mayor this would be my idea to rid the city of abondoned buildings:

It seems to me that most of the property that these buildings sit on is propbably owned by city, which means that the city is not paying property taxes to itself, and probably has outstanding taxes due. So before we even get rid of the buildings what we really need is a taxpayer to own the property and create revenue for the city. Why must we pay contractors to knock down and haul away the debris? And still leave us with a bare piece of dirt generating no revenue? Why not invite all of those contractors to a lottery, and by the way, contractors, you must be licensed and insured properly, and we are going to check, so all you people with pickups looking to make gas money stay home. At this lottery we are going to write the address of a property on a poker chip that contains an abandoned building and put them all in big box. One by one you can take turns drawing chips, your draw order will be determined by the time you arrive on the day of the lottery.

Now that you have your chip, here is the deal, you have 45 days to remove the structure and dispose of the debris properly, whatever salvage you find is yours, whatever problems arise, are yours. For every day past 45 that the structure is still standing you will pay the city $100 for breach of contract. When you are complete we will send an inspector out to the site, I am sure there are plenty of retired engineers that would not mind making a few dollars because you are going to pay them when they come out just like when you have a private home inspection. They will insure that you have properly capped water and sewer lines if needed, gas lines, removed the entire foundation and backfilled with clean fill dirt, a sample will be taken to ensure there is no contamination, by the way you will pay for that test too.

Okay, seems like as the contractor you have all the risk and maybe limited reward depending on the value of possible salvage, well here is the reward. The reason that you are picking sites at a random draw is because at the end of the completed work you will be buying the property for 10% of the taxes due the city, or $1000 whichever is greater. You can resell it for whatever you want, develop it, we don't care, but remember, pay your taxes on the property on time or as your contract will state it will revert back to ownership by the city of you are more than 60 days late.

Maybe this idea is just a silly pipe dream, but we have to come with plan that works with a reward for everyones effort, we can not continue to ignore this problem any longer!

Boy having the muzzle on must really be getting to Mr. Kilpatrick, now its an e-mail blitz, as if texting didn't get him into enough trouble now his staff can't keep their fingers off the keys. So its still the media thats at fault, its the media that took a vacation in California and used charity Civic Fund money to pay for it, and by the way, my brother lives in California, and I can asure you that no one out their is giving any money to a Detroit charity headed by Mr. Kilpatrick and run by his extended family. Then of course it was the media that used Detroit Police Department funds to pay for a luxury vehicle lease for your wife to drive. The media certainly engaged in an extra marital affair, sent tens of thousands of text messages, fired some cops for getting to close to the truth......should I go on?

Mr. Kilpatrick....take some responsibility for your actions and act like an adult for once!

No one in the media did anything but report on the silliness that you engaged in, the thugish behavior, and the arrogant "I'm King of Detroit" attitude that caused all this mess. And if your staffers really expect us to believe that they are engaging in this e-mail blitz on personal time they are as naive as you are about the intelligence of the general population. Anyone who has ever used a computer at work knows full well that personal e-mail accounts can be accessed from work computers just fine, and when people start comparing the time stamps on the e-mails to work schedules, who is going to be the one lying about this time. Because remember, it was set up as kilpatrickmediawatch, not as dupedintodoingthisstupidactivitybysomeoneotherthanthema
yor! But of course who is the contact person? Jackie Watts, and she is, no it couldn't be, not again, another relative, yes of course another of your cousins. Mr. Kilpatrick, please, buy a dictionary, and look up the word nepotism.

And now, Nikki Evans, despite what you may think, what happens in Detroit is just as important to the surrounding suburbs, and the rest of the state, as it is to the citizens of Detroit. People choose to visit the city, and more importantly to spend money there, based on what is going on there. Personally I spend more than my share in the city, as well as all the sales tax, gas tax, income tax, and property tax that I spend money on and a portion of which ends up back within the city as part of the revenue sharing from the state, as well as in road construction, capital improvements, etc. So please, get YOUR facts correct before you pop off at the suburbs, we didn't create the problems swirling about your "Dedicated Leader".

By the way, Opening Day at Comerica Park yesterday was great, the controversy sure didn't seem to keep anyone away from the ballpark....well except for maybe one person.
