I TRIED AN EXPERIMENT WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY , YOUR TACHOMETER MEASURES THE SPEED OF THE ENGINE IN R.P.M OR (REVOLUTIONS PER MINUTE) FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW ABOUT AUTO MECHANICS , I DROVE 70 MPH AND THE RMP WAS 2800 RPM ON THE TACHOMETER THEN I SLOWED DOWN AND THE TACH READ 1800 RPM SO YOU HAVE TO BE SAVING GAS BECAUSE THE ENGINE SPEED WAS 1000 RMP SLOWER . THE RPM MAY BE DIFFERENT ON YOUR CARS DEPENDING IF YOUR TRANSMISSION IS A 3 OR 4 SPEED AUTOMATIC OR A 5 OR 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANS OR REAR AXLE GEAR ON REAR WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLES , MINE IS A 4 SPEED AUTO , SO SLOWER ENGINE SPEED , BETTER GAS MILEAGE .
