....."Dancin' in the Streets" up and down Woodward....WOW, that resignation was a long time coming. Kwame had to be holding out for just the right deal and I hope he got it.
Finally, we can AGAIN begin the healing process...we can absolutely state we are from a city of hard knocks. BUT, we do recover. It's just in our DNA.

How can we get some of that 9 million back into the neighborhoods considering it's pretty much GONE!...have Kwame do lifetime community service i/e garbage man...streetlights...rent a bouncer...clean up Belle Isle...push one of those old school trash carts downtown picking up litter in a white uniform with "MAYOR" on the back...

what would be a good way for him to "pay it forward"

Growing up in Detroit and living in Hawaii is a dogs life. Everyone here (and elsewhere) thinks Detroit really sucks...I tend to disagree and growl back whenever someone disses my town. I've met lots of "Undercover Detroiter's" in my travels who are ashamed to let people know where they are from, especially as of late. I've seen people on Maui that I went to Mumford with in '72 claiming they're from California...they're just that embarrassed about the state of the city. Not the case with me. I'll sport a Detroit T-shirt before God gets the news and let people know we're a blue collar (and party) town, in need of some jobs, and some leadership but we make lemonade out of lemons, keep our eyes on the prize, love our families and friends knowing that people from all walks of life and all over the world embrace Motown, our spirit, and our strength to persevere. Home grown Detroiter's have come a long way over the years, seen and experienced a lot but it's just in our DNA! You gotta love this place. I claim Detroit first, Maui second and there are countless numbers of people who think I'm insane! Should'a seen their faces when I told friends I was going home to celebrate Christmas in Detroit rather than Hawaii!! Go figure! ...gotta go scratch myself... stay tuned...more will be revealed! WOOF!
