Okay - I've lived in Detroit all my life except for the short time I was off at college earning my degree and then I came back to Detroit(which I'm now starting to regret).  I'm a product of the Detroit Public School System and swiftly approaching my 20 year high school class reunion.  Now my question is where is the money?  How can the school system be in such shambles (which hasn’t become any better within almost 20 yrs) when there are 3 casinos in the city of Detroit that is generating way over a billion dollars a week maybe more and a Michigan lottery that generates just as much?  When these items were proposed to the citizens to vote for gambling I thought there was to be funding provided back to the City of Detroit and the schools so show me the money?  Where is it and why are we in such debit with these Mega facilities within the city "Blowing Up”?  I was not a math major but I do know this doesn't add up to me so...you want to investigate something - tackle that Rob Wolchek.....

It`s the same thing with the Lottory scam. When they wanted to legalize it here they ran around saying oh it`ll go into the education fund. It`ll help our kids. So why are most school districts still standing around with their hands out screwing the citizens with their millages and sob stories?

Here in Royal Oak a while back the school board tried to push through funding. Citizens said no very clearly. So what did they do? They spent money on a "study". Reworded everything and pushed it through. Then they had the nerve to plan on redecoratiing their board offices........oh that didn`t take at all. People practically lynched them. So they had to suffer with their plain offices. Awwwwwwwww. lol It`s the same BS in Detroit. They want to live like Kings and Queens and the children suffer.

A native Detroiter who still cares about the city but strongly considering leaving ...because things are so bad and I'm tried of defending negligence. However I’m a homeowner and stuck so might as well try to make the best of the time here :-(
