DETROIT TIGERS STADIUM UNIQUE AND RARE ITEMS GAME USED! - eBay (item 250255743164 end time Jun-11-08 17:49:57 PDT)

The above is a link to a current Ebay auction of stolen items from historic Detroit Tiger Stadium in 2000.

Mike Ilitch was receiving $400,000. a year to maintain (as it was in 1999) and to provide security for historic Detroit Tiger Stadium. Obviously from the auction site, and from the general look of Tiger Stadium - now - Ilitch looks like he didn't spend a dime of the nearly, $2 - $12 million dollars he got from Detroit, a financailly ailing city.

While we celebrate the Red Wings Stanley Cup victory - remember the millions of dollars he has gotten from the City - for Tiger Stadium, with no obvious accountabilty! No one is above the law - Adolph Albert Taubman the billionaire went to jail - Shouldn't Mike Ilitch??

It seems to be a felony crime that the City is allowing to go unpunished. Ken Cockrel, Jr. told me that he believes that "Ilitch owes us the money" and that " I'll do whatever necessary to get it back" that was over at least a year ago, and he still has done nothing. Councilwoman Joanne Watson has also said, that she believes Ilitch owes the City money for Tiger Stadium. Why? is the Council so slow to recover millions of dollars - especially when Detroit has a deficit?? Do they worship Ilitch or are they afraid of him?

The Packard plant is litterally failing onto the streets of Detroit, the Train Station looms as a ominus tombstone over Detroit - there are dozens of abandon buildings throughout Detroit that are a danger to the public and  have better economic locations for business- but there is no rush to demolish them.  Why? the rush to demolish Tiger Stadium.

Legitimate proposals by upstanding businessmen were offered to use Tiger Stadium as a money making entertainment facility since 1999, those offers were ignored, dismissed or discouraged - there was no legitimate offer that the City would accept. Detroit has lost millions and millions of dollars - $$$$$$$, Why? There needs to be a criminal investigation.

George Jackson and members of the Detroit Economic Development Corporation have lied to the Corktown residents, the Detroit City Planning Commission, the residents of Detroit and Michigan. And yet the DEGC is getting its way - with the demolition of Tiger Stadium.

Detroit recieved about $300,000 for items sold at auction from Tiger Stadium - although no public final accounting has been released. That means that possibly millions of dollars worth of items were stolen from Tiger Stadium - in the manner described in the Ebay auction - and Ilitch should be held accountable for that.

There needs to be an investigation by the Detroit City Council, the Michigan State Police and the FBI into what public corruption was involved in the 'demolition by neglect' of Tiger Stadium and Why the City has lost millions of dollars for the use of Tiger Stadium since 1999, and the theft of items from Tiger Stadium, including the Historical Marker. The investigation must include Mike Ilitch, the DEGC and the Mayor.

Contact  members of the Detroit City Council: Ken Cockrel (313 224 4505), Monica Conyers (313 224 4530),  Sheila Cockrel (313 224 1337), Martha Reeves (313 224 4510), Joann Watson (313 224 4536), Kwame Kenyatta (313 224 1198), Brenda Jones (313 224 1245), Barbara Rose Collins (313 224 1298), Alberta Tinsley-Talabi (313 224 1645). It is still not to late to preserve what is left of Tiger Stadium and to restore it to a viable entertainment facility - that it should have been since 1999. Call today...everyday..

Remember to vote - August 5th and November 4th, 2008.

The August 5th Primary is more important that the General Election - so look carefully at all the candidates and vote for the best one, based on their views and how they agee with yours.

Then vote on November 4th,  for the best of two candidates.

According to your own blog storyline, you are THE owner or an owner of Tiger Stadium; What are YOU doing to keep it from closing or expediting it's removal to make room for another useless parking lot? David, you seem quick to condemn anyone involved in the city but seem to rarely use your own power to alleviate any given situation. Granted, some of your blogs are on the money when it comes to the scandal, but you seem to hold a grudge against anyone holding power in Detroit, especially in your own former DPD-Why? If this is a reverse-psychology type elction tactic for whatever government job you may have aspirations for, it is not going to work with this type of smearing. Especially with the positive things Ilitch & his family have done for the city, take for example the Wings?

CAR7858
CORRUPTION AND CRIMINAL ACTIVITY SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AND PUNISHED..ILITCH IS NO DIFFERENT.
A.ALFRED TAUBMAN, A BILLIONAIRE PHILANTROPIST WAS INVESTIGATED AND SENT TO JAIL. HE STOLE FROM THE RICH
MIKE ILITCH TOOK FROM A POOR CITY.
MY BLOGS ARE ALL ALL 'RIGHT ON THE MONEY'
DARREN MCCARTY HAD TO FILE BANKRUPTCY, IN PART, DUE TO THE MONEY HE OWED - MOTOR CITY CASINO, ILITCH OWNED. THEY SHOULD HAVE BANNED ALL ILITCH PLAYERS - WINGS AND TIGERS FROM GAMBLING IN THEIR CASINO.
MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL SHOULD FORCE THE ILITCH'S TO SELL THE TIGERS, THE NHL - THE WINGS OR THE CASINO - IT IS A CONFLICT OF INTEREST.

A conflict of interest to draw large crowds into the Downtown venues & businesses? Many of Ilitchs' dealings can be misconstrued as favortism or even said to be selfish, but their family has put Hockeytown on the map & they seem to have alot better public image than you do. I do agree that people should vote & make their voices heard, instead of just griping about it. Honestly, what do you have against the power players in the private sector of Detriot business? And if anyone REALLY knows the true story of how the Tiger Stadium issue is being abused, it should be you, OWNER. I call 'em like I see 'em, Warrendale Dave! LOL.

MIKE IILITCH IS THE REASON DETROIT BUSINESS OWNERS ARE THRIVING. MIKE IILITCH IS THE REASON THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE VENTURE INTO DETROIT. MIKE IILITCH IS THE REASON THE DETROIT RED WINGS HAVE WON 4 STANLEY CUPS OUT OF 11 YEARS. AND MIKE IILITCH IS THE ONLY ONE WHO NEVER GAVE UP ON DETROIT, LIKE OTHERS.

WHERE DID THE LIONS PLAY UP UNTIL A FEW YEARS AGO? CERTAINLY NOT IN DETROIT.
WHERE HAVE THE PISTONS PLAYED FOR HOW MANY YEARS? CERTAINLY NOT IN DETROIT

MIKE IILITCH STOLE???

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING.

MIKE IILITCH HAS GIVEN BACK MORE TO DETROIT THAN ANYBODY. HE GREW UP IN CORK-TOWN, HIS CHURCH WAS AT 25th & MICHIGAN AVE.

MIKE IILITCH NEVER GAVE UP ON THIS CITY.

YOU SELFISH LITTLE PUKE.

MIKE IILITCH NEVER ABANDONED DETROIT,
WHEN EVERYONE ELSE DID.

IF YOU OWN TIGER STADIUM, WHY DON'T YOU KEEP IT UP? FIX IT UP OR KNOCK IT DOWN!!!!!

"owner" HA!!!! MORE LIKE A SLUMLORD

Sounds as-if someone made a bad investment and you want the city to help you eat it.

KNOCK IT DOWN!!!!!

Thanks Jax; I also have knowledge of David, along with many others who know the real story about the stadium. It does seem like a heck of a nice write-off for the past 7 years or so huh David??? And I would be willing to bet he has a ton of artifacts stashed in some storage area when the big ball does happen to crumble those hallowed walls. I know where he lives, where both his beats were in the city & in the Heights, and have had numerous arguments with him concerning his "buddy" Larry Nevers, whom David claims was an angel & a choir boy. Mr. Malhalab seems to be a disgruntled ex-DPD officer who is insanely jealous of any power players in the city-Trying to steal Ilitch's thunder shows that & I'm certain Mr. Malhalab is extremely envious of the millions Mike & the Ilitch family have made for themselves & the city. And here's a [point for you, david: Many of the "poor people" you claim were robbed by Ilitch don't even go to the games; The Red Wings are mainly supported by a suburban majority, along with a suburban majority of business owners in the Downtown area-Nice try! LOL.

BTW David-Why did you wait until AFTER you left the DPD force to decide that their department needed major changes? Apparently you had to have knowledge of all your "claims" while an officer, huh? Oh I keep forgetting the Code, not to turn in a fellow officer, excuse me.

I don't understand one of the points David is trying to make maybe somone can shed some light on it for me. How is owning a casino, a hockey team and a baseball team a conflict of intrest?

I thought a conflict of intrest would be if you owned 2 major league teams that competed against one another.

As for McCarty gambling his money away, well that is sad but I think Darren is man enough to know that was a mistake he made. The Illitch family did not hold a gun to his head and say gamble your money away in my casino. If it was anyone else's Casino he would be expected to pay up just like if it was me you or anyone else.

It's a conflict to David because he dosen't get a piece of the pie. Surely Ilitch put up the funds to provide security & maintain the property but as OWNER, it seems the fault is with you, Mr. Malhalab-dosen't it? Why did you REALLY invest in Tiger Stadium, David? A quick demise of the property would only eliminate a huge write-off for you now wouldn't it? Let's answer the real questions since you brought this up, David-If you don't mind?

there is no conflic. the Illitch family had to create a holding company to keep the 3 businesses sperate.

As far as Mc Carty he did have a problem and most of it was in Vagas!

GAMBLING IS A CONFLICT OF INTEREST -
FOR ALL MAJOR SPORTS.

BASEBALL STOOD UP TO PETE ROSE BUT NOT
MIKE ILITCH...THERE IS A REAL AND APPARENT CONFLICT OF INTEREST WITH AN OWNER OF A PROFESSIONAL SPORTS TEAM(S) AND GAMBLING INTERESTS --
OWNING A GAMBLING BUSINESS, THAT ALLOWS BETTING ON SPORTING EVENTS - LIKE BASEBALL, BASKETBALL, HOCKEY, SOCCER, FOOTBALL ETC..

ILITCH HAS INVESTED IN DETROIT - BUT HE HAS GOTTEN ALL OF HIS MONEY BACK PLUS MILLIONS AND MILLIONS MORE,AS HE SHOULD, BUT - BUT HE SHOULDN'T HAVE TAKEN MONEY FOR THE SECURITY AND MAINTENANCE OF HISTORIC TIGER STADIUM WITHOUT PERFORMING THE WORK - THAT IS THEFT, THAT IS A FELONY CRIM..HE HAS NOT BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.

(A)DOLPH ALFRED TAUBMAN INVESTED IN DETROIT, BEFORE ILITCH - HE WAS INVESTIGATED FOR ILLEGAL ACTIVITY AND WENT TO FEDERAL PRISON.

SHOULD ILITCH NOT - AND WHY NOT? WHEN HE TOOK THE MONEY, HE KNEW HE SHOULD MAINTAIN AND SECURE TIGER STADIUM AS IT WAS IN 1999, AS A VIABLE ENTERTAINMENT FACILITY.

DETROIT HAS LOST THE STADIUM AND THE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IT WOULD HAVE RECEIVED IF IT WAS USED AS AN ENTERTAIMENT FACILITY, FOR BASEBALL, FOOTBALL, SOCCER, POLITICAL RALLIES ETC..ETC..ETC...

THE MAYOR AND ILITCH SHOULD BE TREATED THE SAME - INVESTIGATED FOR THEIR CRIMES AND IF FOULD GUILY - PUNISHED. NEITHER COLOR OR MONEY SHOULD MAKE THESE MEN ABOVE THE LAW.

But as OWNER, don't YOU have a say in this issue? or do you care? Why is Mike Ilitch in the newspaper for so much good for the city & I myself have yet to see your name even mentioned in regards to moving the city forward? So he owns a gambling business, he's not a player, son. If you feel so strong about making the old ballpark a profitable venue, why don't you drum up the financial support & do it then? or did the Ilitch family turn down all of your "proposals", hence the bitterness? As OWNER, wouldn't that be YOUR job to make sure the funds went to security & maintenance? You talk a mean game but I have yet to see you walk the walk, David-Owner. BTW, does typing in caps make you feel like a bigger man because I for one am not impressed. LOL.

$2 for Tiger Stadium?
From: Chicago Sun-Times Date: May 24, 1991 | Copyright information Copyright - Chicago Sun-Times.

DETROIT For half the price of a bleacher ticket, David Malhalab bought Tiger Stadium.

Malhalab, 40, a city police officer, claims he now owns the 79-year-old ballpark. And he has the canceled $2 check to prove it.

"Purchase Tiger Stadium" is written on both sides of the check that Malhalab sent to City Hall April 10. The city, without comment, cashed it May 15.

Malhalab says he's considering renovating the stadium. Club owner Tom Monaghan and president Bo Schembechler have ...

So for the pawtry price of $2, you can't afford to either tear it down or renovate it? Like I said, it is a huge tax write-off for you as a capital loss, explaining why you are in no hurry one way or the other. Not to mention the possibility of how many artifacts you have. Maybe they sold it to you for that price (similar to a HUD purchase) so you could either bring it up to code as a working venue/tourist attraction OR, you were supposed to expedite the demolition, which you haven't-Which one is it, pray tell David? Enquiring Detroiters want to know, sir!
