40 year old Rosa Prieto is the woman pulled from the Kinnickinnic River Sunday morning.  That was released today.  The family suspects foul play.  The police are saying little, other than they are conducting follow up interviews.  Of course should this prove to be a homicide, investigators need to play this close to their vest.

I met with Prieto's family this afternoon.  I asked her 16 year old daughter if I could give her  hug and explained very quietly I know how she feels because I too, lost my mother.  She started crying.  She wouldn't let go and I didn't want to stop hugging her--- maybe hoping to take away a tiny bit of her pain.

For those of you who've asked in the past, what's toughest about our jobs and most rewarding--- what I just put before you-----is both.

Hang in there Alycia.       -Cynthia

That was very kind of you to be there for her, Cynthia. Reporters are only human and can't be expected to hide their feelings when it's such a terrible situation.
I agree....hang in there, Alycia.

This is THE VERY REASON I watch ONLY FOX6 - all the "other" stations seem like robots reading pieces of paper!! The FOX6 Team is VERY HUMAN....
As Kat said "hang in there Alycia"......

Cynthia how very kind of you. See a hug really does go a long way. May God Bless her family and friends as they go through a rough time. I will keep them in my daily prayers.

I have a different view .Its nice that you gave Alycia a hug but it would have been better if you left the family alone .I don't need to see how the family feels about the death ,i already know.Whats this great need to share the pain of this family with the whole town .The death needs to be reported but the family should be allowed to grieve in private .Shame on all the news stations that want a news story at the emotional expense of the families. Maybe the child will breakdown on camera won't that make a great newsclip .

When I here people say "why don't the reporters leave these people alone to grieve" I myself think why do these people even agree to go on camera. Everyone has the right to refuse an interview, so if they wanted privacy while they grieve, why give an interview in the first place.
