Not sure if you caught it, but I did a story the other day about my husband being one of the lone Giants fans here in Wisconsin!  I'm curious - are there any others out there?  He wants to know he's not alone!

I admit, I indulged in a little toilet papering before a big soccer game back in high school!  But that pales in comparison to the story I had to cover today in Mukwonago.  Apparently some of the teens there have traded in the toilet paper for old furniture.  17 Mukwonago students are in hot water for dumping old furniture on someone's lawn as part of a homecoming prank.  According to police, they had some help from a 34-year-old man.  That man wound up hitting a neighbor with one of the get-away vehicles.  Now he could be facing more serious charges.  All of the teenagers got tickets.  The neighbor who was struck injured his leg, but is expected to be OK.

The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra started its new season this weekend, and I got to take in my first performance.  Wow!  It was absolutely incredible!  They brought in a world-famous pianist as a guest performer and he was spectacular.  That was followed by an amazing performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 5.  We are fortunate to have such wonderful talent in our own back yard.  I'll definitely be back to hear more!

I got to do a story on Marquette's Water Ski Team today!  Like many, I had no idea that water skiing was a collegiate sport in this neck of the woods.  Several of the UW schools also have teams.  What a cool sport!  I wish I could've competed in something like that.  Best of luck to all the skiers I met in their quest to get to Nationals!

I met four Milwaukee County bus drivers on Saturday, who have all been assaulted on the job.  I was shocked to hear their stories - I had no idea the job could be so dangerous.  I think it's a shame that anyone would attack a bus driver, who's only doing his or her job - a crucial service for thousands who don't own a car.  Please respect all drivers!

I'm playing co-ed softball for the first time!  I've played on a womens' rec league team before, but never co-ed team.  Our first game is tonight, so wish me luck!  I'm excited, but a little bit nervous too!

I tried belly dancing for the first time today!  It was a lot harder than I thought it would be!  When you're focused on moving your hips, you forget to move your arms.  Then you remember to move your arms, and your hip movements get all out of whack!  You also have to focus on your posture and your breathing.  It can be a lot to remember!  I would love to learn more about this unique form of dance.  If you're interested too, log onto www.danceforthesoul.com  The instructor even teaches pre-natal belly dancing for pregnant women, plus yoga, meditation, and massage.

I think I was inspired by Tiger Woods' unbelievable performance over the weekend at the PGA Championship!  I saved par yesterday after chipping out of the woods, right onto the green - and then sinking a 20 foot putt!  It's probably the only time in my life I'll be able to say that, so I had to brag a little.  Then on the next hole, I got a triple bogey.  Oh well.  It was good while it lasted!

I have no idea who he is, but I'd like to thank the bike messenger who stopped to help me when I was stranded with a flat on Monday!  I was having a problem getting air into the rear tire of my bike.  This nice man noticed I was having a hard time and generously offered his services.  He whipped out a few of his specialty tools and had my tire fixed up in no time.  Thank you, good samaritan!

I had the best assignment today!  I got to tag along with the Milwaukee Police Department's mounted patrol!  These "horse cops" are huge - 1,600 pounds or more.  Their mere presence is enough to make anyone think twice about getting rowdy at a festival.  I was very impressed at how well-trained these animals are.  They are so accustomed to crowds and loud noises, nothing fazes them.  They graciously allow stranger after stranger to pet them.  One tip though - don't put your hand too close to their mouths!  They are used to getting treats and might think you're offering them food.  I nearly got a nibble from one of them!

I'm a general assignment reporter here at Fox 6 News. I moved to Milwaukee in September 2006 from Rochester, NY. As a native of Upstate NY, I'm already accustomed to the cold winters! I've been in the business about ten years now, and I feel very fortunate to be working & living in such a wonderful city!
