And yet another one for the This is stupid file!

BOSTON -- Lawmakers on Beacon Hill are set to consider a proposed ban on spanking children in the commonwealth.

If this proposal does become law and parents are caught hitting their children who are under the age of 18, they could be charged with abuse or neglect.

I’d like to know just how they really plan on enforcing this one? Dr. Spock would be proud of you morons!  Abuse I can almost understand, but how is smacking your kid for misbehavior neglectful?  Great thinking too, make it against the law to discipline your own child. Get throw in the pokey and let someone else do it for you !  (they call that day care don’t hey?)

I heard an interesting statistic while doing clinicals at a hospital in 2006. It was found when they gathered all the data nationwide on parents beaten by their teens that a majority of the parents beaten didnt spank their children!

It is an interesting fact, wouldn't happen in my home. I have always told the boys, that no matter how big n bad they may get, I will always come out on top: because I'll wait until they aren't paying attention..then they're all mine! LOL!!!!
Besides if nothing else they respect Dad

Funny thing is that Dr. Spock in his later years disregarded his "no spanking" rule as not good advice.

well ya know what they say a spaking in time keeps a kid in line.

Excuse the hell out of me, but they can no longer give the wooden plank to a kid in school so now they have no control.

A spanking NOT A BEATING seems to have worked for other generations. MORE GOVT CONTROL, when will we stand up and say enough!

Born in Flint, and raised here in the Midwest. I'm the son of a WW II veteran and darn proud of it. I believe in the National Anthem and am proud to be an American. I don’t like the way things are going so I’ll tell you about my opinion on various topics. Been working for the automotive industry for 30 years and I'm proud of that, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t have ideas about that as well. I’ll occasionally throw out some comments there too! If you don’t like my comments, you have too options (1) don’t read ‘em, and (2) leave a comments of your own: BUT don’t expect me to apologize for anything (other than mistakes). These are my view points and I call them as I see them: based on the values that I grew up with: not yours.
