You Know? I'm starting to see just what you Conservatives are talking about, I mean, I didn't see it before, But I'm sure starting to see it now. Perhaps your right about Senator Obama. He is kind of a Socialist isn't he?  I mean that Remark to Joe The Plummer about spreading the Wealth around being good for everyone really hit a nerve.

Yes, It's so unfair... Wealthy people should pay the same rate as average people. after all they earned it right? I mean why not? Wealthy people work just as hard or harder than average people right? Right? Sure. I agree. Let's have every one pay... Oh.... Let's see what's fair... Ummm..... $5000 a year in income tax. that's fair right? I mean after all $5000 is $5000 right?

Sure you might only make $30,000 a year, but that still leaves you $25,000 right? Right? Sure it does. I like it. Because with me making over $300,000, I think $5000 is enough don't you? Yes. as a matter of fact I think it might be a little too high I'd only have $295,000 to work with, Hummm..... that $5000 could be Food & Fuel for my Boat for the weekend, Yes, We need to cut taxes across the board. We need a tax cut. These high taxes are downright Un-American.

I see your point. Let's not vote for Obama. He's bad for Wealth People.

LOL, yeah that's it. try right now that person that makes 300K pays, right now 105K in taxes. So 1/3 of their pay is not good enough for you. You're a mechanic, let's say you own a shop that makes 250K a year, you will get slammed worse than 33%, try more like 40% plus you have to pay heath insurance and not insurance you can pick, but Obama's insurance or pay a fine. LOL yeah Big Gent I think your lights just turned on.

Read up on the tax code, just because a person that makes 30K=15%, under Obama's plan you will pay the same up to 43K. Sad thing is that 32% of the people don't even pay taxes.

Here's what Socialism is, sound like a person you know?

"social and economic doctrine that calls for public rather than private ownership or control of property and natural resources. According to the socialist view, individuals do not live or work in isolation but live in cooperation with one another. Furthermore, everything that people produce is in some sense a social product, and everyone who contributes to the production of a good is entitled to a share in it. Society as a whole, therefore, should own or at least control property for the benefit of all its members."

After all, the rich people provide jobs adn livlyhood for waitress' bartenders, people who work at home depot, gas stations, offices everywhere, truck drivers, I could go on forever.
Rich people are the good guys. What so bad about that?
I'm not even one of them but we all should be. Why tear them down? We should watch what they are doing and do what they do.
Then we will be rich too.
Yea!

bye-bye, here is something for you to think about, if only 32% of Americans pay taxes. That would mean that the tax rules are really screwed up because most big companies have a cap, if I’m not mistaken. So that would mean that the majority of the monies is ours anyway; the tax payer. So I don’t consider it socialism because I would rather see that money go to refurbish our infrastructure and government programs rather then continue to allow private companies to steal it from us.

Here is something else to think about Economic Socialism or as I like to call it Economic Terrorism. Let’s guarantee that private Financial Institutions and selected Corporations never falter by Socializing their debt. This protective blanket will shield the greed harbored by these institution by giving them the freedom to take risk at the expense of their consumers and tax payers. Why? Because wrong right or indifferent they can’t go bankrupt.

Can I please get a deal like that for my mother in law’s small business?

SenorGuz...

ByeBye stated that 32% DON'T pay taxes.

I work hard for my money, I EARNED IT. If someone else wants what I have, well, they can go and EARN it too.

As a United States Marine Corps veteran who knows what it means to EARN something, it really chaps my A55 when some hug-a-tree-a-day, whining, crying, liberal baby cries about "he worked harder than me and EARNED what he has, gimmie some of his so that I won't have to EARN my keep"

Socialism IS a red herring, as proven by the fall of the USSR. Or were you out sick at the welfare office the day they taught history at school (funded, by the way, by those who EARN more).

Oh, and did anyone else notice that the U.S. economy BOOMED like never before in history when trickle down economics DID create more jobs and put more money into the hands of the American people, and it wasn't until CLINTON (criminal) ruined it all that everyone started heading off to the poor house, then Bush was elected and recouped the economy and kept it strong until 2006 when a DemoRat elected congress ran it into the ground and it is still burrowing down?

Yeah - they do tend to forget that the economic downturn didn't really get started rolling until after the Dems took control of Congress, don't they. I wonder if they remember Nancy Pelosi and her fellow Dems going off on vacation and staying while a small group of Republicans and Dems stayed behind in the hope that they could convince others to do the same and help America. I emailed Pelosi and asked her to come back but she didn't.

Barack H.Obama
A lawsuit has been filed with the Pennsylvania Eastern District Court requiring Mr. Obama to produce documents to prove he is constitutionally qualified to run for President. So far Mr. Obama has refused to produce the documents and is trying to fight the court order to produce the documents. Any American should be able to prove citizenship in less than a day. Why can't Mr. Obama?

Here is a link to the actual court documents - http://news.justia.com/cases/featured/Pennsylvania/paed
ce/2:2008cv04083/281573/
A constitutional crisis will rip our country apart. If this is not cleared up now we will have a crisis. If you care at all about America you must call for Mr. Obama to produce the documents and prove that he is eligible to be President.

You lib dumacrats are sooo funny. Lets take that person that makes 30000 an. Has a wife and 2 kids a cute little bungalow (house) When they file their tax return with dependent ded, real estate tax ded. etc. gets a nice big return AND DESERVES IT(pays under 25%) Now we move up a generation. His neighbor makes 65000 an. kids are grown and gone, is in a higher bracket with his income files his return and OWES. (pays over 45%) doesnt complain. NO WAIT, he is taking home more money than his neighbor, gee, thats not fair even though he put himself through trade school and raised 2 responsible children that have jobs themselves. But he pays almost 4 times the taxes his neighbor pays, still not fair? NObama, you ax holes.

It's always good to research on various websites before believing something to be the gospel truth. Mr. Berg's lawsuit has gotten a lot of press but before spreading the word about it or any other so-called facts go to:

snopes.com: This website debunks urban legends and debunks information on e-mails sent around about the candidates and others. This includes e-mails which have distorted quotes from Obama's books in order to smear him.

factcheck.org: This neutral website analyzes political ads for truth and details facts as presented in the presidential and vice-presidential debates.

fightthesmears.com: Obama's website which discusses head on, stories/lies/exaggerations told about him.

You might consider also going to rollingstone.com and read the article McCain: Make Believe Maverick.

As for the income tax issue, we have a progressive tax already. Spreading it around might have been a poor choice of words for Obama, but but the truth is:as the taxes stand right now, we are spreading the wealth around already.

I don't understand why people making less than 40'000 a year are making taxes an issue considering they receive most if not all of there taxes back as well as get 1'000s in child care credits. The idea that I work hard to make a living and someoneelse gets to reap the rewards is sickening.

Downriver, I have a great life, so you don't have to tell me to get one. By the way for your information, I hate Tabloids because they are filled with half truths: So are blogs if you haven't noticed. That is why I choose to do lots of research before making a decision about who I will or will not support in an election.

Because I will not be influenced by party affiliation, I have chosen to be an independent non-partisan. Name calling is not my style, so I choose not to do that either. Instead I remember the words of Christ in Mark 12:31, "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself". Also the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you have them do unto you.

In regards to people discussing the election while standing in line at the polls, it is against Michigan election laws to do this within 100 feet of the entrance of the building where you are voting. It is also against state law, to wear shirts, pins, logos, etc. which supports a particular candidate or issue. If the law were enforced, you would be told to take off your pins and turn your shirt inside out. Some of us don't have to worry about any of these issue since we have chosen the absentee ballot as our method of voting.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I will be glad when this election is over.

Elizabeth. Thank you for your sound research, your attempts to promote civility, during this election, and your tenacity in driving the issues involved. And that makes two of us who will be happy when this election is over. I am a Democrat who hopes that we can bypass partisan issues for the common good of oour country. November 5 roll around sooner than we think. Good Luck with your efforts.

As far as I know, Rolling Stone is not considered a tabloid. As you know there are plenty of articles on the web less than favorable to Obama and bloggers on myfox have sent us to those sites. It's only fair to send them to a site that takes a blinders-off look at McCain.

Secondly, the websites factcheck.org and snopes.com are neutral sites. They don't take sides as some of us do. They debunk information going around about all the candidates. I don't consider it wrong to direct people to neutral websites where both sides are analyzed for truthfulness.

Factcheck.org in particular points fingers at both McCain and Obama for not being forthcoming with the complete truth in their political ads and accurate with information in their debates.

Downriver, even though you and I do not agree, we do have the freedom to exchange ideas. That's a good thing. That's why we are blessed to live in the United States where we can freely exchange ideas.

And when I said "Do unto Others" it was in reference to derogatory names used in the place of Democrats, Republicans, McCain or Obama. We can discuss without being disrespectful to each other or the candidates.

Marygrove, thank you for your words of encouragement. I think it's important to focus on the issues that will matter on November 5th, the day after the election: the economy, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, health insurance, etc. It's important that all of us take this election seriously, forget partisan divisions, and focus on the future good of our nation and in turn the good of the world. Together we stand. Divided we fall.

OMG! Listening to HOMO Barney Frank saying they will "seek to increase spending and a tax increase on the rich to recoop some of the money of the bail-out plan"! What is this? He should pay for this! He and his lib friends caused this whole mess! They ignored EVERY warning and lied under oath in the hearings over adding a company to oversee Fannie and Freddie! I don't know about you, but I make 50.000 a year and pay a 28% income tax. If they increase taxes again as they impose, I will be paying 50% and will be forced to make decisions if I am to keep my home, which I have refinanced 2 times and make monthly payments for 15 years! We cannot afford Obummer and his tax plans!
