Ooops, to much happy juice this morning. Right before we got married, I had to work in Mississippi's Delta region. While there, I heard many, many, thousands of times, where in casual conversation at a company style picnic, one black man call another black man a Nugger (get my drift here), but then they looked towards my direction, and said, "honky, are you staying for the game?" (softball) It didn't bother me in the least that they called me Honky, nor that they called each other the Nugger name. But as I was leaving, one co-worker who was black, said something to a white co-worker in jest and called him CrackerJack, and the two men were grab aZZing like men do, and the white man called his friend a NUGGER.
You could have heard a pin drop right there in the parking lot. The black man stopped, and very coldly said, "don't ever call me that again, you white aZZ-hole".
What the h*ll was that about?
15 minutes later he and his fellow black man were calling each other that name as they sat and laughed and joked away, but suddenly, the word is "offensive" because it was said by a white man?
Let's get the H*LL off the POLITICAL CORRECT bandwagon here folks. If you don't like the word, don't use it on anyone. If being unpolitically correct offends anyone around us, then leave us alone. Quit putting the blame on all of America because a gadzillion years ago, people were sold and traded as slaves. So were the Vikings, the Hmongs, the Russians, the Eskimos, and even in England. Black slaves could cost as much as 25,00 dollars in 1840 .
