WHILE AMERICA FIGHTS TO PROTECT! IN THE NEWS TODAY I READ: Boy beaten to death while mom serves in Iraq Woman's boyfriend charged with murder after 4-year-old found dead in bed Updated: 2:44 p.m. MT May 26, 2007

CALUMET CITY, Ill. - A man beat his girlfriend’s 4-year-old son to death after she left the boy in his care while she was deployed to Iraq, police said.

A judge denied bond on Saturday for Donell Parker, 23, who is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Cameron Smith. Parker was charged Friday, a day after the boy was found dead in his bed in a suburb south of Chicago.

EVEN IF THE PERSON THINKS HE HAD A HIS OWN REASONING; THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR ANYONE TO HARM A CHILD.  THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE WILLING TO CARE FOR A CHILD. CALL OR TAKE THEM TO A FIRE DEPARTMENT, POLICE DEPARTMENT, HOSPITAL, GRANDPARENT, AUNT, UNCLE, FRIEND, NEIGHBOR, CHURCH. SOMEWHERE.

THE TOTURE OF A CHILD AS THIS IS AND THE OTHER CHILDREN BEING STARVED TO DEATH, AS WELL AS BEING  MOLESTED AND EVEN MENTAL ABUSE IS UNEXCUSEABLE.

MY HEART BREAKS. I CAN'T SLEEP AT NIGHT OF ALL THE HORROR DONE TO CHILDREN.

THEY CRY IN MY SLEEP.

MIMIMUM WAGE

$5.15 TO $7.25

Finally a raise that has been need for over 12 years may be here. That may buy a few gallons of gas. I believe that someone on the old wage of $5.15 at 15 hours of work a week after expenses could by a bag of beans, a bag of potatoes, a bag of rice, and a box of powdered milk. Businesses hire many employees with less than 40 hours work time to avoid the employee getting insurance. With the rise of grocery prices, gas prices, electric cost, and other costs; this is not even a band aid. It's just brushing the dust off the sleave of the wealthy. A pacifier to the low income.

A single parent of 2, income of $400. a week before taxes, a low estimate of expenses; rent  $550, electricity $200., less auto costs and fuel expenses, medical, groceries, needs of children and self, is still to much income for government food stamps and other help in some states.

Without winning the lottery the poor can't get ahead.
