There's so much hate for both parties now. I overheard someone talking at work that they think no matter who wins, they will be assassinated. I guess it's not such a far off thought with the economy working against the republicans and racism working against Obama. Perhaps we should really consider who the vice president is going to be. It's a tough choice for me. McCain seems too much like Bush and I don't want that. On the other hand, I'm concerned with Obama's heritage and if that will affect his decisions. Making a choice by the news coverage, I'd choose Obama. But then, who can take a politician for their word anyway? They still need a plan to accomplish the tasks they present and need approval for the plan from a split party. It's never as easy as "vote for me and this will happen".

Definitely the VP choice for both parties will be a major influence on voters in this election. I would never be so cynical as to predict any assassination, but that or other health problems are always a remote possibility. Of course, the choice made by the candidates will boil down to how their VP selection would help them strategically in the general election. Senators Obama and McCain will have to seriously consider how a woman running mate could positively affect their chances. If I were Senator McCain, I would wait until Senator Obama had made his choice, and if he turned out not to select a woman as his running mate, I would select one as mine. It may be just the tweak he needs to get close in this race. It is my opinion that as it stands he doesn’t have much chance of being elected so he must take every opportunity to increase his chances. I think that Bush has done far too much damage to the GOP and the conservative cause for Senator McCain to overcome. As for Senator Obama, I really think that Al Gore is well respected among democrats enough so that he would make a great choice as running mate. He definitely helped President Clinton win two terms. I believe that Senator Obama will select someone who will be very uncontroversial; why rock the boat when you have so much momentum?

I hear ya! I wouldn't predict an assassination either. However when it was brought up, I couldn't help but think that this would be the year if there was going to be an attempt. I don't like either one, but I'll vote for Obama over McCain.

Did you hear that someone was arrested for threatening to assassinate Senator Obama? There are all kinds of nut jobs in this world.

No, I didn't hear that. Wow! I think crazy people breed faster than normal!

I grew up on Builtmore St in Detroit. I've been moving away from the city since. I enjoy hanging out in my backyard without the noise of gunfire and the smell of exhaust. Now that they are trying to turn Howell into another Novi, I'm ready to move again. I enjoy going back to the city for events. However it makes it difficult living so far away with the price of gas. I work for a major company in Detroit and may have to quit due to gas prices. If Detroit gets a decent Mayor, I would consider moving back. I enjoy nature, Music, Comedy's. I've been a Drew & Mike fan since day one, but that doesn't mean I agree with everything they say. It's just entertaining!
